I'm a big fan of the whole spoilers thing...but, uh, you know, I only like rowling because she makes money.

It's the same reason I like the Yankees over the Mets.

I only read all the spoilers so that I can know what to expect when my fiancee reads the copy i just paid some guy for today. she apparently wasn't working at that place today, so I guess she'll just have to wait to read it.

on a side now, I'm having a lot of fun trying to type (correctly) faster than the NGBBS screen is going. I'll get rolling and all of a sudden hit the wrong key and then for some reason I always use the backspace instead of just correcting it later, I mean, my firefox has an auto-spell checker. So far this post I managed to get almost a full sentence (that first sentence on the first paragraph there was still typing out when I was halfway through the next sentence about my fiancee needing to read the book later)

No, it's not his looks that they made fun of, that wasn't the deal. I hope I'm not breaking the rules by sharing what I've learned, but basically they all got mad because when he was an admin, they say he abused his powers and muted peoples' microphone whenever he disagreed with them or wanted to talk instead of them. He was de-adminned because of this, and was confronted with it all and he basically had a bit of a temper tantrum.

36holla made several audio files of it, and to this day, he plays it over the microphone in the Paltalk chat and everyone laughs. To this day, discussion in Paltalk sometimes revolves around bashing Grammer, at least in my observation. And the rest of the discussion consists of poo/vagina/cock/jew jokes.

Paltalk is only tolerable in small doses for me, so I can definitely understand why Grammer hates them. They take Grammer-bashing to excessive levels, even for my tastes.

Not only was it happening in a public place, it was happening in a Newgrounds based public place. That makes it reasonably open knowledge. Also, he does not suck. His box forts held up to all but my feircest nerf attack.

$25.00

the guy was in my WFR course with me, he threw his back out like the third day and he got it certs like a month later. It was nice of the instructor, a local forest ranger, to let him do that. She's a cool lady, I see her in my travels with my job and she's always happy to see me.

either way, he ordered 2 copies and only really could afford 1 of them. so he said he'd let my faincee have one for 25 bucks. so of course, she asked me for the dough %_%

That was fucking hilarous. And just for the record no there wasen't anything more Tom Jame could have done to stay in the punisher movie. The producers fucked him out of the chance to make a good movie so he decided not to do one.

Abuse of admin powers in that room isn't so uncommon, in my experience. I see them muting and removing each other if they so much as disagree with another opinion. And then the IRC room gets called archaic and removed because we were a bit unfriendly to Wade and the other javas who wandered in, even though you'd be hard-pressed to find ops abusing their powers in the IRC room.

Bah. I'm still so conflicted about the chat removal. On one hand, we got burned by our forceful removal from the teat of NG for amusing java-client running fuckoffs. On the other hand, we don't have to put up with java-client running fuckoffs. Hmm.

RANT RANT RANT

Also, Paltalk is to online chatting as 4chan is to Internet forums. There, I said it.

We sealed our own fate, Poli. We didn't exactly help our case any when Wade was around.

well, its hard for the OPs to abuse power because badbit's little bot, anubis_ keeps the place running on autopilot. and there's a little less to worry about in the IRC room. in paltalk they have webcams and microphones and younger users who are more easily impacted by language and insults. I mean, it can get more personal in paltalk than in IRC because people can see and hear you (if you so choose). I don't like that. and since I dont have a webcam or a mic, I'm content with my IRC ^_^

Also, Paltalk is to online chatting as 4chan is to Internet forums. There, I said it.

damn straight.

Meh, I never noticed anything big. One time MAP bounced people when she didn't like the fact that we were in a religious discussion and were getting deep. There was no argument or contention of any kind actually, and she just bounced us. But I didn't really mind because she did it as kind of a joke. We kept talking afterward and she didn't do it again, but that's all I ever saw in terms of "abuse" of admin powers, but I wouldn't really call it that.

I see them muting and removing each other if they so much as disagree with another opinion.

I never saw anything like that, but then again every time I go on paltalk (maybe once every 2 weeks) I end up getting incredibly annoyed by the utter idiocy of the conversations and leave within a few minutes. Honestly, every time I've ever entered the room I'll see "lolz fagz, anus, anal, dildo, rim job" or something of that nature within 20 second, so I'm usually not there long enough to witness the admin behavior because I can only tolerate the shenanigans in small doses.

Bah. I'm still so conflicted about the chat removal.

I don't know when the new flash-based chat will be up and running, but it looks a whole lot better than the hold one.

Also, Paltalk is to online chatting as 4chan is to Internet forums. There, I said it.

That would be an accurate observation.

Actually, she's a US citizen and she's been here for most of her life so it's not as odd of a mix as it seems.

Well, usually it's the French accent (from France) rather than the language itself that is considered to be romantic. French Canadian accents basically sound like an American trying to speak French.

Either way, I don't really like the French language. I've learned languages pretty easily, I've been able to communicate in many languages when I visited certain countries after I studied it for a bit, but French just fucking befuddles me. I just don't like how it flows at all, I'm incompatible with it I've decided. I've developed an accent in both German and English that makes it practically impossible for me to pronounce most French words.

I'd rather communicate in a language consisting entirely of fart noises.

Eh, should definitely be interesting, to say the least. I want to know how PsychoGoldfish is pulling off a chat system without resorting to an IRCd, and how it'll all fare when users have to keep a browser window open the whole time while in it. It's a recipe for keeping regulars out and the General forum idiots in.
