Nothing major, their just opening up a Lowes in the next town over... wouldn't want to put me in a high stress job with all those powertools and gardening implements in case I just SNAP... no telling what I'd do. ;-D

what if you built some type of disturbing war machine and began rolling into other departments? sure, the lawn and garden section has power tools in there, and what use is power tools if they don't have anything to power tool? that makes the lumber department a reasonable request. but the plumbing department? Even the paint department is starting to get uneasy

Actually I can communicate a bit in French, I've been to France, and my girlfriend is French Canadian (surprise surprise). I basically only repeat phrases with no understanding of the grammar, but big whoop, I speak 3 languages (2 fluently) beside French.

See, when we were at my parents' house last weekend, my mom and her were just discussing it outright as if it was no big deal, as if it's their decision haha. Her parents aren't quite as pushy to me in person, but her little brother basically tipped me off when he said "my mom is mad you haven't proposed yet". So if I was going to do it now and give them what they want, there would be no surprise at all.

So I'm not playing by their game. I think that instead, I'm going to procrastinate as much as possible, allow my girlfriend (and both our families) to develop a few feelings of doubt of my intentions, and then BAM! Surprise. Then the mindless festivities and intrusive involvement of family members in every detail of our lives until the marriage day can proceed, when I've determined that I'm mentally prepared for it.

Either way, as you well know marriage is by no means a game or a joke. It is a serious life defining decision where you must switch your priorities to put your wife before anything else. It is permanent and not something to just treat as a "next step" or as a spice to the relationship.

Being mentally prepared to change your entire life, to be able to look at a lifetime with your wife is extremely important. It is better to be certain, than to be on the fence. Plus, she gets half of everything if you divorce.
