Fli, this topic is for the pure fun of rileing people up and causing problems.

Nothing to do with gay marraige.

Don't mind me... just pissy lately-- just barely back and my mother is acting jealous. "Oh, you love your aunt more than me!"

She doesn't get along with her, and for her... it's always been a "everything or nothing" situation. Either I hate my aunt, or I hate my mom. And she can't understand that I'm a 25 year old man now who can choose who I want to love or to not to love.

Actually, it's good. Very good. I'm looking for more DVDs...

I stand by my point of it being about a bunch of stealth jews (Namely "El Abrazo Partido", STEALTH JEWS AND STEALTH POLES), but meh. One Argentinian flick that's rather bitchin' and has a sligthly less annoying accent than usual is "Roma", although I believe it's a co-production or somtin'.

Chilean cinema is... okay. Chilean films - documentaries in particular - were highly renowned back in the 60's-70's, but in 1973 the you-know-what caused what's referred to as the "cultural blackout", and all of a sudden films were cut down to publicity and vaguely erotic comedies. The ocassional gem has sprung out every once in a while during the last 17 years, one of which being "Machuca". It's still a bit bland in comparison to what's being done in the rest of Latin America nowadays, but it's supposedly the spearhead of the new movement. Meh.

Sadly enough, that's a pretty accurate statement you've made there about Colombia. I think there have been about 2,3 or 4 Colombian players with a certain level of fame who have been stabbed/shot to death in the last... what, 15 years?

I need to agree with the general consensus on an official 08 election thread.

at the moment the field is so wide open, that fli's idea is almost impossible, as platforms can change a lot between now and the finishing of the primaries, as well as the number of runners now, late runners, third parties....it's too insane to really make an official topic.

clearly we will need one, and it'll need to be monitored well, as this annoying two party system of two almost alike parties somehow stirs up emotions.

on a side note, anyone remember that futurama where the two clones were debating?

From a certain post that a mod deleted... my homage to it.
Book 7 related stuff... it was near complete cell phone pics of the last chapter. I'm glad that I saved the pics before it was deleted... it seemed very real.

Holy fucking shit. I was considering posting some attempt at a drole witticism about vigilante toddlers in that JHMX thread about abortions and crime rates and then it hit: the redesign. This is going to take a lot of time to get used to (the tags had better still work). Excuse me, I have to go familiarise myself with this ... vast unexplored realm filled with awkward emoticons and tankmen. And I haven't even seen my new user page.

I hope my new level icon looks pimp

Whoopsies! It's hard to remember everything, I guess. Thank goodness there's only room for 1 news post at a time on the front page, or otherwise, there'd be really big problems.

Puts new meaning to "Everything, by Everyone", though, doesn't it?

I've got this weird gut feeling telling me that the first page of the poli forum shouldn't be filled with random NG news items. What pills would you gents recommend to help me beat this horrible affliction?

Several doses of Viagra. The news posts will still be there, of course, but you'll be too horny to notice them.

Ostensibly, the new forum contains bugs, which is to be expected. The next few days ought to be at least moderately interesting.

That's to be expected. The redesign is one of the biggest things to happen to the site in quite sometime, so naturally, everyone's going to be talking about it. Trying to encapsulate it all in one thread would be difficult.

I know one thing, I'd hate to be a mod right now.

I barely ever use my livejournal, but for some reason, I feel too attached to it. I tried to replace it with my myspace blog....but it didn't last. I'm happy with my one internet journal...even if the last post in it is just a bunch of links to cafepress designs with "Mal" written on them.
