I think that would have an adverse effect on the flying using burning jet fuel part.

Wow--
I guess this was serious enough for Wade to post this:

We have recently had a couple users get a visit from the Secret Service over posts they made that included threats towards the President. YOU CAN NO DO THIS! YOU CAN NO JOKE ABOUT THIS! The Secret Service has to investigate any threat made towards the President, even if it apperas to be a joke, and no matter what the age is of the person making the threat.

I personally got a call from the Secret Service just last week at my home over a post made on our forums. I just heard another user had the Secret Service show up at his house and question him and his family. I can't verify that for sure, but I can verify I was contacted by the Secret Service regarding another user.

So unless you want to risk the Secret Service showing up at your home, possibly taking your computer, quesetioning your family, maybe friends, teachers, etc, DO NOT JOKE AROUND.

If you find this hard to believe go Google up info about the Secret Service and you will see just how seriously they take threats, even if they appear to be harmless jokes.

While I was happy to assist the Secret Service in their investigation, and the agent was very nice and proffesional, I don't appreciate that the user who made the threat wasted my time and our government's time.

From now on anyone who makes a threat against the President, or anything that would warrant an investigation by the Secret Service, the offending user will have their account terminated, possibly after WE contact the Secret Service ourselves to report the threat made.

DO NOT screw around with this. You do not want to find yourself on some government watch list, have the SS coming to your door, etc, over what you think is a joke.

If anyone leaves any smart ass replies to this topic, such as a threat to the President, your account will be terminated.

I wonder if this was people around here...

This is probably the only time in this thread's history that the year we're posting in will be the same numerical value as the number of pages in the thread.

Unless this thread dies someday.

Does less than a page worth of posts a year count as dead?

Hmm, methinks probably

99% chance he calls back tomorrow unless something zany happens that prevents him from doing so.

You were right--he called twice. Got one hell of a wakeup call from him, too. ;) But we got everything sorted out. He said he never would have gone to France, period, if he knew I'd have been upset in any way. But why would I stop him from going? He's a freelancer, and the Cannes Film Festival looks awesome on his resume. It would be extremely selfish of me to take that from him because of some separation anxiety. If anything, though, he's missed me just as much, and it was damn obvious by his voice and tone. As if five international calls wasn't already obvious...XD

Anyway, folks, thanks for putting up with my idiosynchrosies. I even took stafff's advice and said to him that if there's this jealousy whenever one of us is with someone else, something's wrong. He agreed and said we could work something out when he gets back. (You know, when it doesn't cost him a fortune to call. XD) He also finally found a place to check his email, so he asked me to take a couple of pictures of myself and send them to him. (No, not dirty ones. Besides, I'm not that kind of girl.) He said he's dying without any reminder of me and just needs something to look at. If that's the case, maybe I should send him a wallet picture one of these days.

Oh, and in other news; my car is DEAD. Dead as in, I was on my way to work this afternoon for the second half of my split shift, and the engine threw a rod. I was planning on scrapping the car sooner than having the engine rebuilt (blue book value; $400 at the most), but now this little fuckup has helped me to speed up those plans. I'm working out a deal with my parents to buy a Cadillac they have for sale, but...

I r sad. :-(

FYI-- I didn't write it, just posting Wade's words. (I think everyone got it, but it doesn't hurt to mention it again.)

I just saw Pirates of the Carribean.
Go. Fucking. See. It.

The best of the trilogy.

WARNING: SPOILERS

1.) We will see Jack. More than a few times.
2.) We will see a family member of Jack. Including dear "mummy."
3.) A woman can be "king."
4.) The best marriage ceremony will happen.
5.) Kiera looks like she's dropped 15 more pounds since the last movie. (But this aint a spoiler.)
6.) Tia, the black woman, plays a hugely significant role in this moive.
7.) It's awsome.

End of Spoiler.

today we went to a popular bouldering site in the area and we put two guys up on a rock on ropes, one was ASM, and owuldn't let go of the belay he had his friend on. one girl choked on a tootsi roll, fell and got impaled by a stick. i had heat exhaustion and the girl next to me had a diabetic attack.

What's ASM?

acute stress reaction, harmless, self resolving.

...it's a panic attack. they freak out and get their vital signs all out of whack and either pass out and are fine, or get PROP and get better (prop = position, reassurance oxygen if needed, rescue breathing if needed)

That's actually what I started doing when it went *boom* and the acceleration started dropping, because I thought the engine was skipping or something...

When I got home after work, I noticed that my car was home, which struck me as odd considering it wasn't driveable when I left it on the side of the road and went to work (my mother lent me her car whilst her and my dad took car of it). I was hoping against all hope that maybe a belt had slipped or something, and that the car was salveageable... WRONG. They towed it home. :-(

My dad said roughly the same thing when he figured out what was wrong, though. "Do we have a funeral for it?" Though the truly sad thing is we were talking about selling it yesterday morning, not a few hours before the engine blew up.

sort of like Mexico's cinco de mayo celebrations, not an "independence day" or even a "we won a war" day, just some random battle. instaed you guys have your government.
