prom is a huge waste of money. at least it was when i was in highschool. i went to my freshman prom only because some older female friends at work all wanted to go to my school's prom and needed the same number of male dates. it just so happened the number of males at work that winter who attended my schoolw as the same as the number of girls wishing to attend.
the other guys kept trying to get in the pants of their much older (they were seniors, we were freshman and sophomores) and completely uninterested dates. i knew my damn place (plus my date wasn't exactly a looker).
the dance was boring and played crappy music, prom court was figured out by randomly handing out roses and hwoever got red ones were princes or princesses and whoever got yellow were king and queen, everyone else got white. then since my school got money from SADD they had an after prom party (mandatory for ALL attending, no matter what) they put us all on a bus, drove us an hour to some hotel and made us stay there until 6am where they put us back on the bus an dbrough us back to the school.
and that was the only prom i went to.

Amen. I was homeschooled, and while we did have something similar to a prom for Juniors, I think only about 10 people showed up out of the 50 families in the group I was involved with. It wasn't that big a deal to us.
Another public school scam; Senior Rings. Whatever you do, don't go through your public school to buy them, they will RIP YOU OFF. I was able to get my senior ring for $50 at Wal-Mart, and it was the same Chrome-Vanadium metal and pseudo realistic gemstone that my older sisters paid $300 bucks for in Highschool.

I'm wearing two ivy league rings, an SCSU key necklace and knuckles crackers that spell "THE DRUNK" when I tap my fists together.
But yeah, prom. Woohoo. We made it a party and almost paid dearly for it. The venue that was hosting the dinner actually threatened to end the night early if ONE more person was seen pulling from their flask.
The best part was when the queen chugged the rest of hers after being crowned, but before the royal dance. Priceless.

I wore my high school ring for a long time. It had a picture of a Confederate soldier on one face, which I always thought was delightfully Southern.

Mine had a knight on it. We didn't have an organized sports team at time, I just thought the knight logo was cool. That, and my mother was heavy into my dad's medevil genealogy at the time, kept finding knights killed in battle and that sort of crap...
My dad bears a striking resemblance to his ancestor Edward Longshanks, though. It's weird.

I REALLY need help.
How do you remove U3 software from a flash drive? I've been trying to gooogle up the info, but dammit... no luck.
I got a KILLER deal on a 2 gig SanDisk flashie thingie-- Saved 50 bucks on it because I lost my other one at the library. I'm still sad about my other flash drive because it had so much works that I didn't back up. Lesson Plans. Essays. Pics.
All gone because nobody called me to return it, or leave it at the Lost and Found.
I know because a librarian told me he saw it and saw somebody taking it after I came back to find it.
God, I hope there's karma...
But anyways...
annoying U3 software. How to remove it? SanDisk doesn't have a number or a link with that info.

Hey, man. You don't know how hard it is to have to lace up a $200 pair of sneakers, walk all the way out to a brand new car, and drive the five minutes to a state-of-the-art high school where they will spend the whole day wasting their education and chatting online. Then, to add insult to injury, they have to go to college!
