Michael Richards who played Kramer on Seinfeld is in deep shit right now for mishandling some hecklers during a standup gig this past week. And that's putting it lightly.

Let me preface this by saying I don't know what the fuck you're all talking about. But do you really need to watch what you're saying and to whom all the time? I think that might say more about you than popular society. I have no problem not insulting people on a day to day basis...

Which is fine right up to addressing a public crowd. I have no problem insulting people either, but as soon as I say it in front of other people (instead of a private one on one), all hell breaks loose.

I've gotten people demanding apologies for my behavior.
My response was "fuck off!". I am entitled to my opinion, and I am entitled to express my opinion.

If I think you're an asshole, I'll tell it to whoever is around. If you got a problem with that, kiss my ass. I think it's bullshit that I should have to apologise for expressing it.

I really don't think Kramer needs to apologise if he truly believes what he said. If he was blowing up, then yeah, apologise. But don't puss out on what you believe just because your words may have offended some people........

Micheal Richards deserves the flak he got for being so damn racist.

But the thing is, if you don't like it, there's no one stopping you from listening.
I didn't like the guy in the video who said "he needs to give a public apology, because he offended every African American in America". So fuckin what? If he meant what he said, I would rather he have the balls to stick to his opinions than give into that shit. And who is this guy to speak for the entire black population in America? I'd rather HE give a public apology for assuming that, than Richards.........that's an obvious false statement that he's passing off as fact.

There was a preacher on the diag a few weeks ago with a big sign that said "God hates gays", and a shirt that said "Gays will burn in Hell".

I didn't believe what he said, so I didn't stay to listen. End of story.
On the other hand, there were some people there trying to remove the man (heckling him), and get him to apologise for his offensive behavior. I couldn't believe it, cause he had EVERY right to say what he said, whether someone believed it was correct or not.

If you don't like it, flick him off and move on, he's not worth your time!

Since I hold some positions here that require me to speak publicly, I get some flak for my choice of words. But I've never issued an apology, publicly or otherwise, for saying something I believed that offended someone. My opinions are my opinions. You don't like em? Tough fuckin shit. Don't listen next time.

. There is no excuse for that behavior, I don't care if it is just "words". Words can be offensive.

so what? Words can be offensive, but they can't cause damage. If I'm hurt because someone called me a short fuckin shithead, that's MY damn problem. I need to ask myself, "why did this hurt me?" "why should I care what he said?" etc. In the end, what damage is done? He has expressed his opinion, but if I don't respect or admire the person, what difference does it make? If I DID respect the person, I should re-evaluate WHY I respected the person. I shouldn't break down and cry because I'm only 5'3 and he called me short, or demand an apology.......

In the end, its the increasing PC culture that continues to piss me off.

I highly doubt that he truely beleives those black people were (n-word)s. He stated in his public apology that it is not what he beleives so there's two birds with one stone. I can only speak for myself but his apology seemed geniune. Yeah it's a mistake that he'll pay for but good people can make mistakes.
The sticks and stones argument is infintile. Just about all incedents of sticks and stones happen because of words.

Your post made no sense. I didn't say that I "don't have a problem insulting people." I said I don't have a problem not insulting people. Which means I don't accidently walk around calling people niglets and spics. And if you do actually "accidently" say these sorts of things, it's more of a reflection on you than "PC culture."

You need to calm down a little for these rants. I can almost feel the spittle hitting my face.

I'm racist against Normans, and I've never apologized for it, and I never will.

But then again, when you look like me and you smell like strippers, people don't really expect apologies.

offense is in the eye of the beholder. I imagine I should be offended by the letter "t" because it bears and unholy resemblance to the cross, and is therefore blasphemy.

I really like setting myself on fire.

People get offended, fine, but who cares.

You may not see the big deal, but you do not speak for the vast amount of people who were offended by the racist bullshit Micheal Richards had to say.

So what if there fucking offended, I'm offended by the sheer stupidity of the Anti Christmass buzzkills.

It makes it even more right for him to say it.

My gosh, you people seem so insistent that no one should care that you're practically telling me what I should feel. People get offended from words. Period. It's happened to me, it happened to these two black people who went to the Laugh Factory, it happens.

And thats all fine and dandy, but are you the too black peple offended.

No.

I personally just don't give a shit, because words are useless in most of these cases.

I was thinking more along the lines of Voiltares:

Jesus Christ.

A lawsuit.

Well, that's you. Words can be considered a form of emotional abuse, and you'd be lying if you told me they never hurt.

Ok, I'll be the asshole here and say it. That word is wrong for anyone to use. Using it about and to your own people is not impowering. It is keeping everything that word means in the current frame of mind and people who use it are obvoisly fighting so hard to be segmented that they can shut their fucking mouths about equality. Black people shouldn't call themselves that word, hispanics shouldn't call themselves wetbacks, gay people shouldn't call themselves faggots and the list of words I could technically get away with other than that one goes on and on.
