Apparently there is nothing racist about shoving a deer's severed head into the mailbox of a black family.

You know though, only in Massachusetts do you have a chance for a black govenor, woman govenor or an independent govenor.

Actually, Virginia had the first (and only) black governor in this country, Douglas Wilder. And Massachusetts had a female governor because of succession, not election.
He followed me home, can I keep him?

Have any of you read Platos Symposium? That is the craziest thing I have ever read. It is probably one of my favorite things I have read also. I really think the allusions and ideas expressed in there are awesome.
Ha, the idea that love is the desire for good things or happiness. It sounds so hippy but it is true and I have never thought about it before. Really doesnt mold with our idea of love nowadays.
I highly suggest yall read it if you havent. I wouldnt be suprised if most the people on here havent read it by now, however. Probably gonna read it again, was confusing as hell but interesting as hell too.

I am not enjoying this scholarship hunt bullshit. How in the fuck is giving a native person or a woman the scholarship over me just because of their race/sex justified? Prejudiced assholes. I need financial support as much as any person within a minority. In addition, I need to start thinking about applications to various universities, and getting choosy in the million-to-one chance that I'm not accepted into my first choice for some ungodly reason. There isn't enough time in a day anymore :(

If it makes you feel any better, I am a Native American woman, and I got no scholarships due to my race or gender. Our state had something called TOPS. I took honors classes, made a 26 on my ACT, and maintained above a 3.5 and they paid all my tuition for 4 years as long as I stayed enrolled full time with a 3.0 average. Does your state have anything like that? I'm sorry you're having troubles. I remember how much that sucked.
Lucky, I'm perpetually fucked in the Scholarship hunt due to my area.
Though, enlistment and GI Bill will pay for College right away.
Hopefully that will work. And who knows, maybe I will take Politcal Science.

I'm all for financial aid but programs depending on race and such reak of quota filling. Ideally cases would be argued without the obvoise being a leading factor but the world ain't perfect.

Read it about a year ago. It kicked ass.
Probably gonna read it again, was confusing as hell but interesting as hell too.
And that's about the only thing I remember about it! I have it in my room, I just don't have the time to start leisure reading. I've got more than enough school reading to do....

Got to meet some interesting people in the past 3 weeks.
A group of Japanese Breakdancers came up for an event. Luckily we have a few people who speak Japanese to translate for us.
Today I met a group of German Breakdancers. One of which was in IBE, which is essentially like the Olympics of Breakdancing. They spoke excellent English, no translators needed.
I love this shit. Breakdancing is such an inclusive sport. Nearly every nation has breakers, and we all respect each other and stuff.
If everyone knew how to breakdance, there would be no wars, cause we'd just Breakdance fight to settle our differences.
We're like a hardass utopia, capable of spinning on our heads!!!
FUCK YEAH!!!
Anyone ever meet someone famous?
I've met 5 famous Breakers since I've been at U of M, it's friggin awesome!!

We all miss you, andrea. :-(
It stormed here last night. Normally I sleep through storms, but this one kept me up for part of the night because I kept thinking the roof was going to lift off at any moment. Then I get up this morning, and the sky is that weird shade of yellow that sometimes follows a storm. I went to the bathroom, came back less than two minutes later and one of those purple dots on the weather radar had set right down on our house; zero visibility, hail, raining at a slant... yay. It lasted all of 15 minutes.
Now I is tired, and minus 200 satellite channels.
