Obviously I'd like it very much, or else I'd be studying something useful.

Hey, you already have a wife. Your mormon nature betrays you.

Don't listen to him. I just lost half an hour of the best years of my life. And his stuff is only 200-300 words. =\

That'll be hard to do. Right wing columnists are notable for their lack of clarity and their want for proper grammar.
Kidding.

So I went to turn in my conservative columnist application. Some fat girl came out and asked me if I needed something I handed her the application and said, "I just need to give this to someone." She had a smile on her face until she looked down and saw what I was applying for. Then through gritted teath she said "I'll give it to them."
So begins my exciting new career.

And I think they have editors to fix grammatical mistakes, btw...

I've always enjoyed it. I've had to take some time off for school and avie has been very understanding towards that. Untill the site becomes a paying job some things have to come first. But summer's coming, my load is lightening and I'm looking forword to figuring out fake people with a clarity real people shun me for.

Writing sucks ass. Journalism writing doubly so. I don't understand why anyone would do it, unless they're either;
• getting paid, or
• going to use this writing to get paid in the future.

Or going to use it to help get into college (or if they just like to write)...

We have diffrent venues but it's the same task. The internet, when used properly, can be a respectable news and commentary source. It's been suggested I market my columns to paying venues but that feel disshonest.

I think journalism and column writing has to be gimmicky to work out well.
So, BeFell, you either need to be a Micheal Moore or Ann Coulter to pay off as a writer. Meaning: obnoxious and far sided...
But whatever...

I wouldn't say that. I'd say that's the high profile people. But any of the national publications pay good money. Be a staff writer at $2+ a word? Not bad, not bad.

Charles Dickens got paid for the word.
Thats why all his stuff usually sucks because of it being to drawn out.

I think Dickens is one of the great American authors, but I really don't like the fact that he allowed money to influence his style. ZOMG SELL OUT!
