I beg to differ.

Sure, if you try and teach it like math, yeah. That won't work. But people don't come with racism and bigotry pre-installed. They learn that shit.

Look... "To each his own."
I don't really care about diversity and all, but more how people conduct themselves.

I mean,
You don't have to love the gays, blacks, latinos, asians, arabians, etc...
Just as long you can control it... it's okay-- really.

I think that if you can pull of a Mancia, a Chapell, or a Foxworthy-- go ahead, everyone loves a good laugh.

But if you start sound like a dickhead racist... then whatever. Just make way for me to leave...

They learn it but living with idiots who already think that way. Not from spelling out slurs on a chaulk board. Just the same acceptence has to be a natural process. Forcing it will just distance the child

We don't need to force acceptance, what we need to do is just decide that we don't give a fuck about skin colour anymore, just like we have with hair colour and eye colour. If you discriminate based on eye colour, you're not a horrible ignorant bigot, you're an insane moron fit to be ridiculed.

I want this same situation with skin colour. Everyone should just stop concentrating on it.

I grew up in a town that was extremely diverse. I had a black friend, an italian friend, a friend who was born without an arm, two friends who were identical twins, an inuit friend, etc. I knew NOTHING of racism until they started "teaching" how not to be racist in school. I didn't know the difference between my friend Kairan and myself until they started preaching about how blacks need equal rights. "Teaching diversity" or "forcing them to believe" in your agenda only propogates racism. Leave it alone. Mandating something that has nothing to do with education is rediculous. They mandated that aryan German children should hate everyone who doesn't look like them. Why is everyone wanting to indoctrinate children how they please? Let people raise their children however they feel is best. Schools are not designed to develop social consciousness. They're there to educate children on the basic skills of reading, writing and arithmatic. Just fucking leave it at that.

Quick change of subject.

Poll topics.

As seen here, and in spin-off fashion here.

I don't know why I didn't lock Grammer's topic when I saw it... Maybe I figured it would spawn off some sort of political compass discussion... I dunno.

These things tend to breed more of the same, and generally, I lock/delete them when I see them. Just yesterday I locked, then deleted a topic basically asking people to post which they were... Democrat or Republican. These kinds of topics are IMO, forum trash. No one really reads them aside from the topic starter, and they waste precious forum front page real estate. Anyway, that's my opinion.

Traditionally, only the Political Compass topics have survived, and I'm wondering if anyone has objections to it staying that way.

Opinions?

Delete all others.

This way, if a n00b wants to get everyone's (regs) opinions on their affiliation, they can post there to bump it. I'm sure we wouldn't mind displaying current results (maybe even while quoting what our previous tally was) every once in awhile.

I generally agree with you, but that might just be bitterness right now. Considering that, if it were up to me, half these religious topics would be deleted, or at very least locked, maybe I'm just in a harsh mood.

But I mean; WHAT THE FUCK. How many crappy "st00pid muzlems" topics have sprung upin the last bit? Honestly. Fucking dicks who just instantly damns an entire religion because of their ignorant opinions about it...and Befell. Why can't they just all keep their bitching about Islam to a single topic? Or at very least, a single topic on the front page.

Bah. I need my holidays. Thank god I only have one more day.

It seems like if there's an official Bush topic, there outta be an official Islam topic.

I mean, the official Bush topic was started because there were to damn many Bush topics cluttering up the politics forum.

It seems like all the new Islam topics should necessitate a similar solution.

It's such a damn subjective and opinion driven topic that debate really accomplishes nothing, beyond making an opponent look like an asshole. So yes. If someone atleast tried it, that would be bliss. Especially if it received mod support.

Bingo.

(It should be noted that I did a topic search for 'official religion' and 'official Islam' but only received 20 pages of non-related material, so I think it might be a relatively unique idea)

The mods who frequent this forum will decide if there needs to be any more official topics... alone.

I'm asking for opinions on the polls just to see what people think.

I think if the "what religion are you" poll had been allowed to continue, it might have developed into a discussion on tolerance and understanding among people of all faiths.

It could have evolved into an enlightened dissertation about the role of religion in law, politics, and community.

BUT......that's just me.

Ok, I feel the need to put this to rest. Hopefully the people this is mainly directed at will see it, since I do nto have their emails, but also so everyone knows.

I am not anti-American. The thread about American troops shooting a the Canadians because they were just having fun, along with several other threads I made were simply an eleborate joke on the behalf of myself and Funk. I am in fact not really anti-American. Although I am critical of some things the United states does, I am not anti-American. I am equally critical of other nations. No hidden bias or hidden agendas.

When Funk see's this he can verify what I am saying. Im starting to get tired of this cloud hanging over me (as I am sure some of you have already seen this) and I just want it to be done with. I am sick of every post I make being systematically disected then rather than the contents of my arguement being debated, my percieved bias is debated. People do not know what I think, its absurd for anyone to claim they know wexactly what someone is thinking if its contrayer to what they have said, especially if you have never met them and the debate is on an online message board.

/end rant

So... you intentionally mislead us on your views into topics that you know will push our buttons and are "sick" when people start coming into topics with prior knowledge of your views in mind?

I suppose HRC wouldnt have a problem with Jerry Falwell speaking on their behalf?

Opinions?

Poll topics are a welcome change from "why Christians sux" topics, often re-worded and re-posted to avoid deletion.

an eleborate joke on the behalf of myself and Funk

It worked quite well then.

its absurd for anyone to claim they know wexactly what someone is thinking if its contrayer to what they have said, especially if you have never met them and the debate is on an online message board.

The problem is I AM only going off what you have said on an online message board, and what others have said about you on an online message board. I'm new, all I had to go on was what you had posted, and what other people considered you. And if many people were in on this joke, and they all supported the notion that you were anti-American, then I cannot possibly perceive otherwise.

But you've cleared your name, so to speak, so all is well now. Hopefully you at least see where I was coming from.

I do not blame anyone for mya ctions. However in recent weeks I have dropped that act, but it seems to have carried on. Things such as jos.facts.us were made without my knowledge or participation, no one other than the two of us was really in on it (some people knew but didnt particpate).

I would like to make my name cleared. I am not looking for pitty or sympathy. I am looking for people to under stand it was a joke and would liek people to move forward.

How am I supposed to know it was a joke when these "joke" debates went on for as many as NINE pages?

Im sorry, I realize Im being a dick. But I dont think its particularly funny to joke about America intentionally killing innocents and Americans taking potshots at unarmed civilians for fun for the sake of flame baiting.

Plus, I still dont believe you. Just cause you, months after starting this "joke", say its not a joke means nothing to me.

If you aint anti-American, prove it in your posts, dont just think I am gullibly going to believe you when nothing yet suggests to me you have changed. I will be more open minded next time I read your posts and will not infer what your ultimate objectives of a thread are again. If I do (which I honestly can see myslef doing) arrogantly point this promise out back to me.

If I believe you have lied to me, I promise nothing.

And yes, again, I do realize I am being a giant dick and I do realize I am disturbing the otherwise, usually, funny lounge. Sorry. Im an obstinate jackass. I recgonize this.

I apologize to everyone I am upsetting and pissing off. I realize I am being a selfish prick to so publicly settle this. I dont like being toyed with, however.
