I think I'm kinda off with the stereotypes here. Do dorks watch Babylon 5, or were those Scientologists?

No those are geeks.

Dorks watch Battle Star Galactia

Nerds watch Star Trek

Hey, I just picked Wesley Crusher because he was a wussy character who eventually grew into a wussy actor who became a wussy internet personality.

Hey Canadians, do either of you live near Vancouver? I'm visiting for the Summer.

Oh, I dunno. When I was planning on working in Alaska last summer, I was considering allowing Befell to pay to hang out with me...

Some of them have to be conservative, or Harper wouldn't be in charge of Canada now, would he, eh?

That and the fact that many people don't want the internet to collide with real life any time soon.

A weird thing happened. I saw the opening scene to the Nintendo game Bad Dudes about a month back, the part where it asks "Ninjas have kidnapped the president, are you a bad enough dude to rescue the president?"

That's been the desktop image on my computer for some time now and I used to ask that little phrase to people all the time. I had developed it into a theory about how, in addition to Ninjas and Pirates and stuff, there is an archetype more powerful than any other. That of the Bad Dude.

Combining that with the recent Chuck Norris thingy that's been going around lately, I figured the case for my theory was pretty strong. Some other good examples are Rocky Vs Communist Boxer in Rocky (Insert roman numeral). Not only did Rocky beat the commie boxer, he beat him so badly that he defeated communism at the same time. That takes more than a ninja or pirate or Jedi, that takes a bad dude.

Indiana Jones also qualifies as a Bad Dude. Remember in Raiders, when the awesome swordfight guy squares off, and Indiana just shoots him. That takes a "Bad Dude."

Curiously though, the front page of something awful is basically using the same joke, making me wonder if my minor activities on the subject have virally transmitted all the way to a popular website.

Weird Weird Weird.

I would love to hang out with any liberal on this board. I would be offended if they didn't feel the same way.

Okay, so, Doctors are kinda awesome, right? Not really that awesome, but, you know, kinda. So, what modern medicine needs to enhance medical awesomeness is Doctor McNinja.

Such a great concept, I'm amazed it hasn't been taken by... uh, you know, those peoples who make movies. Jews.

Oh, JoS, after studying my Canadan geography, I found out that Ontario is pretty far away from Vancouver. I'm sure you'll be able to make your way to Vancouver though.

Doctors are pretty freaking awesome. I'm only a few hundred credits and a doctoral thesis away from getting my PhD. After that it's just a matter of resisiting the temptation to change my last name to something funnier than my current one.

Pepper?
Doctor? (Dr. Doctor, come quick!)
Dang Yu Fat? (not being Asian would hamper this)

We're under a winter storm watch for the possiblity of 2 inches of snow or more tonight into Monday morning.

It may not sound like much to you Northerners, but for here, that's a pretty significant amount.

It might be unusual, but what problems would actually be caused by two inches of snow?

Well, if it sticks to the roads and bridges, lots. We simply aren't prepared for snow because it snows so infrequently here. There's few snowplows, snow tires and chains are unheard of, and frankly, Southerners really don't have much experience driving in the snow.

To make matters worse, it's supposed to be here right before the Monday morning commute, which is already a nightmare here in good weather.

Oh, I will. I'm not worried. I've driven in the snow before,

until I hit that patch of black ice a few weeks back

it's these morons that think that their 4WD SUV allows them to go 50 in a 40 while there is snow on the ground and bridges are frozen over that I'm worried about.
