If you hadn't of just had the conversation you did, I'd recommend exactly that.
I've found the only way to get through to peope is be brutally honest...especially with friends and family. Friends and family will gladly let you enable them, in a lot of situations. I'm glad you said what you said, even if it didn't seem to have any immediate result.
It's the people that are closest to us that we listen to the most. Sometimes, though, it's the truth from those close-friends that hurts the most. All you can do is give her sound advice, and not contribute to her problem by enabling her.
I don't know. That's what worked for me. Maybe it won't work for everyone...but I think you did a good job attempting to get through to her, either way.

Hey, now. I'm ultra-sweet, all the time.
Just not...you know...on newgrounds. Or around anybody else, for that matter.
You go to hell.

Thanks Sam. I don't know why but apparently she's not motivated to succeed. She's sort of a microcosm of the nation's failing education system. For some reason, economic success won't motivate her, lucrative jobs with lucrative pay so that she can buy all the anime she wants won't motivate her, nothing will motivate her, I'm hoping this made at least a small impact on her.
She tries to put up a tough front and act like she doesn't care, but she's not a monster, I know she cares. And she can't fool me anymore with carelesness because of the statement she made about her mom, she's human deep down inside and she won't admit it. She's scared of something happening if she changes but... I have no idea what the hell it is she's afraid of.

You guys are acting like two repressed mormons now. Aren't there any female co-workers you can grope Bakshi? Or is that why they put you in the tool section? Away from the snatch?

Other people have been showing off their work out gear so I figured I would jump on the bandwagon. The place is a mess. I know
On the top is my dumbell, set at 120 pounds. In the corner is my very cool shoe.
On the bottom is my curl bar. The tool responcible for my infamous sleevless shirt flexing picture. Set at 350. above it there are old college books that were outdated by the time I tried to bring them back so I was fucking screwed

I have those same dumbbells in the bottom picture. My grandfather gave them to us. Once I picked them up. They went from the car to the corner of a room in our house.
Yeah. Great work out.

That's sweet, that really does flatter me... I've been obsessed with not so much looking young... but looking more like my age. But squinting with contacts in my eyes can't make me look younger... especially if I look like a 40-year-old-Chinese-man.
So I will Lazik. Lemme save up some.
But you know...
I've always thought you looked very attractive too.
Yes yes... I know I know. How could I say that?
Let's just say that I have an eye why a guy may want to go out with a certain woman, and I can say that I can understand why your boyfriend hooked up with you.
Queer guy with straight eye. That is all...
At 2/1/06 04:35 PM, Elfer wrote: No offense, but in that picture, you DO look like a forty-seven year old chinese man.
47? Chinese Man!
Glasses are gone, and new haircut.
It's just that... I never had a haircut that I liked enough maintain, cause that's how my hair grows out. It was cool when it was long, but that was alright when I was 19 and 20... but if you're approaching 25... then that's when you start to look like a yuppie.
And Damien, now that I've gotten to know you, I think you're an extreme sweetheart. It's just you word things like a dolt sometimes, but all men do. :D But yeah, I can tell now when you're being a schmuck, it's just a show. I know you're a good man. *hugs*
Actually, Damien...
That was indeed sweet (in your sort of way...) And I guess I do get off being aggressive once in a while.

Yeah, well, it wasn't that either one did it in and of itself, it was the combination of the two. I think one or the other would have been fine, but not together.
It's like ice cream and fiberglass insulation. Good seperately, but when you combine them, not so great.

Sepiroth... I'm getting ready to leave. I'm getting ready. I'll leave tomorrow after my last class at 10:15.
I don't know if I'll swing by, but hey... if I do, I'll email you from my neice's computer. (Dial up, BTW... my god, I forgot that existed...)
We're going to that market near by those tunnels (You remember the ones from Greese, and Blood in and Blood Out? There's a restaurant above stairs called Mariachi's.)
It will be cool to meet up,
but I'm not entirely sure that I'll be there in LA. I got to settle a few things in San Barnadino (family stuff).
You'll know how I look.

I dunno, the only post milestones I really look at are the 10k intervals. I want a lot of congratulations from you fuckers when I hit 20k. At this rate... Year and a half, eh? Make it two, play it safe. I wonder.
