DamienK,

Then which name do you legally consider your last name? Biological father, biological mother, or adoptive mother?

When I was preparing the legal papers for our baby last year, we decided that it should take my last name and also his mom's biological maiden name. (like the Spanish tradition.)

Although we do plan to get legally married in the future (when the time comes)...
We don't plan to take each other's last name. We've opted what my mother has done:

Keep the last name.
That's right, my mother has never taken on the married name. It still bugs my father a bit. My sister plans to do the same, and this is causing some grief to her boyfriend. (He's planning to propose.)

I wasn't willing to take my husband's last name.
And he didn't want to take my last name either.

But we had plans that once our baby was born, he'll be the next biological parent in line. And that kid will take his last name and mother's maiden name.

I pretty much live on pasta. I've been making a lot of spaghetti/capelinni bolognese and linguine/fettucinni alfredo. I've been experimenting with different pastas and sauces just to mix things up.

And Funk, uncorrupted doesn't mean you're 100% good or evil. If what you say is true, then you're 100% corrupted. And what caused you to suddenly want to elope with a mormon girl? Drunken stupor, perhaps?

DamienK,

Actually my combined name is just my mother's plus my other mother's. I'm the product of sperm banks : ). And I consider both my last name. For example (not my name due to mass internet paranoia) if my name was Damien Smith-Smitherson I consider Smith-Smitherson to be my last name.

It sucks, because people always get my last name. I'm always Smiths-Smitherson or Smith-Smithersons, or Smiths-Smithersons, and of course the worst is First Name: Smith, Last Name: Smitherson.

My name sucks.

Nice...

It's great, every body hated the splat-paint guitars when they came out and so the prices on it were so low. I tried it and it sounded and looked great. It's tone was much darker than any strat I'd ever played, and I dislike really treble-y tone. Then after I got it, everyone thought it was the coolest guitar in the world wondering where I got it.

Sound's like it's got a different body wood then. If it was traditional alder (what Strat's are normally made of) then it would have that high-trebly sound strat's are known for. It's probably something like basswood. Not a bad choice, but it's softer than alder and a little bit heavier too.

(I say basswood because that's the only other wood I know for sure strat's are made of...)

I have a acoustic modeling guitar by yamaha (the kind you can stick your arm through) but it's broken at the moment. I have a 30 year old hand-me-down Alvarez classical, I was really lucky with that one.

Again, cool.

I have an Ibanez SDGR bass, not so great but not so bad, my neighbor was selling it for cheap.

Sometimes you can a real prize doing that... I've got a friend who was at somebody's party once, and the host was BLITZED. He goes over to get something out of the closet, and my friend noticed a bass sitting there. It was an earlier 80's Kramer bass (emphasis on bass), vintage white body with black pickguard, and a Kahler whammy bar. My friend asked the host how much he wanted for it, and the host asked how much he had.

Would you believe that my friend got this bass for only $60?

I was also in the process of making payments on a beautiful brazillian classical and I really hope that the shop wasn't destroyed : ).

Now that would be something I would sit down and cry over.

I also have a conjoined twin of a guitar, no matter how hard I try I can't get rid of it. Goddamn shecter devil tribal guitar. What the fuck was I thinking?

I know a guy who may be interested in buying something like that... I'll put you in contact with him.

Proteas, I love you!

It's actually not a bad guitar (cost about 600) or so. It needs a bit more work before I can actually sell it, I need to replace the pickup rings. All the electronics in the guitar are new because shecter equips their guitars with crap electronics. My main beef with it is how goth it makes me look, but if he's looking for that kind of guitar he should like it.

I was going to buy a new guitar sometime soon, I wanted to get a Les Paul. However, due to some unfortunate circumstances, I must now buy a new muscle car what has the big power. That car accident really messed things up pretty good.

Since I've got up until Wednesday off on vacation, I decided to a little cleaning around the house and cars--mainly the junk drawers and nooks and crannies we stick little doodads and thingamajigs in.

Between those, and my computer desk, and the furniture, I found a grand total of $51.57, not counting a 1952 silver dime, a Kennedy half dollar, a canadian quarter, a Wal*Mart gift card with $0.57 left on it, and a valid McMonopoly piece for a small McFlurry.

Who needs a savings account?

Good luck. He called up two or three local music shops asking if they still made whammy bars like that, and the end result usually was the music store clerk laughing hysterically and hanging up on him. I think one said "They haven't made those since '85."

Eh, I'd rather wait till this summer when I start pulling down $15 /hr, then I could just grab myself a real Les Paul. I've never really liked the way Epiphone Les Pauls sound, it's just kindof off. Besides, I'm looking to get one with an ebony fretboard, they play like maniacs, I had the privilege of jamming on a friend's and it is unreal.

You can tell Drew Pickels is wild in the sack... I mean, what? Who said that?

Anyway, I had my creativity going tonight, I was sending some care packages to people and I was trying to think of creatively bizzare pictures to draw with funny captions. As a result, I couldn't stop thinking off really funny stuff afterwards and now, I have it, the eureka. I have an awesome idea for a flash movie and it's too good to just storyboard and leave for dead halfway through, as most of my ideas end up. That is all I will say, I'm going to set out working on it tomorrow, script work and storyboarding mainly. I think a good week of getting that done will be sufficient and then I'll start animating. I'm going to take my time with this one.

Don't get a tongue piercing.
I had it, and it messed up two of my teeth.

I didn't know they were cracked, and after a long time, I needed two root canals. And my god, that was pain-- because the dentist couldn't numb it. The only way to numb it was drill as fast as possible to the nerve, and then shoot it with the novacaine stuff.

Get nipple rings.
They're fun. But don't go all crazy and stretch it out (that looks weird.)
12 gauge is good. Although recently, I accidently got caught at the door and my nipple was literally ripped off. (I was running, when I brushed up against a door nook.)

By far the best peircing is the Prince Albert.
It only hurts for a second and then there's zero pain.
The fastest piercing to heal. And it's stimulating both ways.

'bmezine'-- ubercool, and you can read stories and see pictures.
