Yeah we've all had those problems. Hell I even once made an "I am the Thread Killer" topic, which has in turn been done many times as well. I suggest you deal with it or go to the general thread. Or if your that sick of intelligent posts leaving people speechless, stop being so smart! Just look at me, I say stupid crap all the time and I haven't killed a thread in a long while.

DO NOT skip the flash intro on this one.

"Come with me for fun in my buggy."

Now THAT's musical genius.

Yeah, in highschool we had people who go to the region yearly to drop off aid and donations to the people that still live in the area. So many broken homes and people left with an unfortunate situation. Then again, it's like that in many parts of the world.

Ok, this is going to sound really gay, but there is this song, that I CAN NOT FIND NO MATTER HOW MUCH I LOOK FOR IT! It's called "walk into the wind" but it's by a female singer. I've heard one by some guy singer, and it sucks. Some of you, if you actually... wasted your time to see it, would have heard it in Showgirls just before the rape scene. (Classy, I know.) Anyway, no matter how much I look for it, I can't find it anywhere. If you guys ever happen to just be looking around for music (legally of course) if you happen upon it, could you send it to me? I'm seriously desperate, because the song is pretty awesome. :D

I googled it right quick, and it turns out that "Walk into the Wind" is by...

*drum roll*

The Eurythmics.

Dang.... that leaves us with only two other options then.

1) type the lyrics up in google, and see what comes up.

2) Fastforward to the end-credits of that movie and see what songs are listed.

Thing is, I did google it before.

"WALK INTO THE WIND"
Written by David A. Stewart and Terry Hall
Performed by Buggsy Pearce

But I can't find the song anywhere. And I don't want to buy the whole showgirls soundtrack for one song... In fact, I don't want to buy anything having to do with that movie.

Can't blame you.

I just did a quick search of Morpheus for the song... nothing. Just a bunch of clips from the movie about "Elizabeth Berkley's Lapdance" and whatnot.

why not check for the album on itunes or napster (since you know...they're legal and such..) or some other legal downloading type place...that way you can find the songs from it, including that one...

Just a question...
Am I the only one who learned the prepositions during college?

I never learned them as a kid.
Teachers seemed not to care.

You know, I went a year of Honors English and two Years of AP English and I'm still not exactly sure what a preposition is.

I learned prepositions and other gramatical stuff like that in middle school. But I was homeschooled during middle school. So, it's not like they'd actually teach you in regular middle school. I don't even think I went over it in highschool. (I went to an actual highschool, wasn't homeschooled.)

They're words that tack on different phrases to a sentence like "with", "for", "from" stuff like that.

Oh thank god...
Same here.

I didn't really learned them till my first year at SCU.

I have really good grammar (although my sepelling sucks). Err... don't pay attention the stuff I write here. Let me resay it again. I'm good at grammar... when I give a damn.

Anyways,
I wrote a really good paper, and I made two mistakes.

I wrote, "What are you affraid of?"
and...
"What's this about?"

I keep forgetting about not ending sentences in prepositions, but goddamit!
Two stupid mistakes and the bitch failed my paper.

Well that's another story entirely. That's crap. Seriously what is that teacher on (sentence ending in preposition tee hee). My teacher marked me down for making 2-3 mistakes on a paper, but I got a B+ on it. Failing you for a few minor grammatical errors is unethical.

Agreed. Also, I'm sure there's something against the guidelines or code book about that. Is that the final grade on it? Or will she give you a chance to revise your paper? Because, if that's the final grade, I'd go speak to your dean about that.

All I know of prepositions is that they are something you can't end a sentence with.
Much like I just did. Oh, the grammatical inhumanity

Coincidentally, our lounge and that of the Wi/Ht now both have the same number of pages.

Finally, I will now dissapear for an additional three months before I post here again.

I did know what they were when I entered college, but I sorta had a special situation. My mother is a "reading specialist" my sister has been an english nut forever and I had some of that good catholic schooling where all they know in english is to teach you what a preposition is. I had no idea how to actually write an essay, but I damn sure knew what a preposition was.

Conjunctions are not prepositions though. Or are you saying that the lesson for prepositions shows up in the same School House Rock episode?

Yeah-- that's me.
Anyways, this teacher is cool. I like her, but some times... goddamnit, it's like she wants to shot lasers out of her ass, or something.

I don't really care about this class. It's Children's Lit-- we spent an hour today talking about how Harry Potter fits the Orphan Archetype, and all that. No skin off my teeth.

I wrote a nice children's story-- About a tree and a boy and girl. It's similar to "The Giving Tree", but mine is very different.

Anyways,
BTW--
Gunter-- ouch. What happened?
