You fucking Beatniks.
It's called indivudual expression. It's the beauty of humanity where one person from one point of view sees something the rest of us cannot and shows their wonderful creativity to the world.
Here's a haiku about your independent thoughts

Not like you would ask him to, but it'd be kinda cute if he did.
No, no, no...
Do you know how confusing it would be for the kid? What if you break up with the girlfriend?
Unless this is a deep commitment for a life time,
for the sake of the kid, don't let that kid to think that you're the dad.
Let "baby's daddy" be the daddy, unless you marry and all that.
I think having a 'secret' name is fine. If it's the matter of affection, "Amicus" is an uber-cool name. It means "friend" in Latin.

sometimes a child would feel resentment for a new "daddy" and adding some new term such as what you're saying, can be done. i know my dad did that with my older half bro when he married my mom. my brother didn't want to call this man dad, the last man he called dad ran out on him and mom, so he started out with "john" or something like that. sicne my bro was only 5 whent hey first met, they had nicknames for eachother. i dont remember what my brother called my dad. but my dad called him dee-go. i dont remember the story about it, but something about my brother and my dad used to play hide and seek and my bro (who's name is corey) would say where'd he go? and i think he wound up saying dee-go?, and i guess my dad would say the same abckt o him. and then it became some cute nickname thing.
either way, its just that many kids are reluctant to let a new man come into their life and fully become thier dad - and sometimes a new term for this guy can help the process, especially if mom is still searching the feild and the kid may have a few of his mother's suiters to call something or another

Welp, i finally saw Hitchhikers. Actually, we went to this really crazy place. You ate dinner while watching the movie. We showed up ten minutes early. The person seating us asked if we had a reservation. After we said no and told her what movie, she then asked some other guy whether it was still scheduled or not. He said yes, and so she proceeded to erase the "cancelled" that was scrawled across the page in the book. We were seated, and we had the entire place to ourselves. It was a regular-sized movie theater screen, but there were booths and tables, all positioned so that everyone could see the movie.
Anyone interested in my take on the movie can visit the forums, thankyouverymuch. =]
Also saw Ghost in the Shell 2 a week or two ago. Was... Well, beautiful as far as the graphics go. Mixture of animation and CGI was perfect. The actual story left me a bit confused, but. Yeah, was cool. And while we were visiting my grandfather, the place he lives at showed Kinsey. For the people who haven't seen it, let's just say that it's not the sort of film you want to watch with 20-30 other people in the room, who - besides you and your mother - are all well into their 70s or older.

Hmm I'm starting to feel the coming of age speaking about kids and dating and stuff... just 1 week ago I was still playing Zelda *sigh*... which I still am but... just not as much. Anyway, the kid actually sees his dad frequently, about every week end or so, so me and his mum have some alone time. When the kid is around, he isn't much of a bother really, he tends to keep to himself, although he did jump on my back at one point and clinged to my neck so I could walk around with him :\ Don't get me wrong, he's a cool kid, but he's just not my kid, and I hope he never calls me "dad" or anything of the sort.
As for his mom, I'm not sure how far I'm willing to go with her but, yeah it's love all over again, however, having been prepared thanks to my Sociology class I think I am now a much less clingly person and much more secure than I used to be. How far I will go with her though, only time will tell, but I do appreciate the insightful and steadfast responses all of you (Mal, Fli, Damien, Grace, Maus, even Tal-con) have provided. I'm especially fond of Maus calling me "ES" I'd heard "Enraged" or "Seph" or "Sephy" before but never "ES" thanks Maus.

Meh, it's good that you feel like you're growing up and becoming more mature, but don't loose that kid part of you. I mean, I'm mature and I'm all grown and what not, but I refuse to let go of my childish side. I embrace it. You can still play Zelda and still be a kid and be a grown up too. DON'T LOOSE YOUR INNER CHILD!
BTW, Drop Dead Fred is a great movie. lolk.

How come Ted disbanded the Politics Crew? We were cool. Who's left since i left... which is September last year, now... Is this the longest thread in NG yet?

I get to have a new muffler and shocks put on my car this week... along with a new rear tailight cover because I backed over a hobo on my way to work this morning. Yay.

Not much, to tell the truth. Funk is a Mod now, Freak is married, Maus moved from General over to here (and was modded as well), -Wraith- attempted suicide a few months ago, Skunk is headed to Europe next semester to study abroad, and I came out of the closet to declare my right leaning political stance, much to many reg's shock and dismay.
Standard of debate gone down the pan still?
Not really, there's just more idiots around than usual.
Some things never change...
They sure don't. :-)
How come Ted disbanded the Politics Crew? We were cool.
I think it was because of infighting, I'm not sure.
Who's left since i left... which is September last year, now...
Bakshi, BWS and Gooie. Mainly because of personality clashes with other members and admins.
Is this the longest thread in NG yet?
Hardly.
Ah, it's been a long time. Does everything still suck as much as it did before?
For the most part, yeah. Same old recycled topics. So how goes it with you?

No, it's because your strong emotional involvement with her makes you want her to be something much more than she can be. And because of this you get frustrated at acts of non-perfection. Just as she gets frustrated with you. And Proteas... be prepared to never get laid.

because girls see it as a way to grab at power in a relationship, by showing the guy that if he messed up and fooled with her in any way, he could easily lose her. its also a way of keeping herself emotionally safe. by keeping a little more distant because they feal threatened that if they get too heavy into the relationship, you, the guy, may turn tail and run; thus hurting her on one of the worste levels.
basically...because she's a woman.
