That's kind of typical of any iron sword (iron's a very dense material though, so it doesn't take a whole lot of it to weigh a lot). I once heard of one group of medevil re-enactors in florida who use period-correct broadswords that weighed around 40 pounds (18.14 kilograms) each.

The thing that pissed me off was in Braveheart, where Mel Gibson started swinging around one of those claymore swords like what you have... the thing was bending back and forth like it was made out of sheet metal. Real iron is brittle, and would have just snapped after bending like that.

WHAT?!

How is Erin's family getting along, just out of curiosity?

I get to see if I can balance two part time jobs tomorrow (an old friend of mine desperatly wants me to watch his shop for about 10 to 15 hours a week). Then I get to call up the people at O'Reily Auto Parts about getting some shocks for the back end of my car... after that, I'll probably either write in my journal or noodle around on my guitar for a while.

Erin's family is doing okay. He was like the baby of the family so they took it pretty hard at first, but they seem to have adjusted pretty well.

Those are some weird assed AIMs, btw. :\

I was unpacking my fiance's stuff (snooping), and I came accross a bag full of late 80's early 90's cereal/happy meal toy nostalgia.

I wonder what else she has in the piles of junk she left for me to clean up.

Ah...

I still have Pogo from 101 Dalmations. And I still have those two dogs from Oliver and Company (from McDonald's).

I even have a Charlie Brown somewhere...

I'd like a pair of Kendo Sticks myself. I'd take that over a display sword any day. But then again, my brother owns a reproduction model tomahawk my maternal grandfather made years ago from a wheelbarrow handle and a plow point... it is the shit, and I'm kind of aggravated that I didn't find it first when we moved two years ago.

The only sword I've ever seen that (I thought) resembled the Master Sword was the display reproduction Sword of El Cid -- Tizona. I don't think anyone actually makes a replica of the Master Sword itself.

You may want to read this and the previous page of the lounge to get a better understanding of what happened.

Well. It certainly isn't serious discussion, which we TRY to aim for in this forum. It would be really out of place in Flash, Where Is/How To?, Programming, Clubs and Crews, and the Audio forums, so General is your best bet.

You need to d/l mIRC. And then follow the steps to register a name there. Or you can choose a random name on java and just say who you are.

We've got one in here too. Julio "Lobo" González, builds custom-made armors and weapons using pretty much the original technique of Medieval Europe, namely Spain. You're a first-worlder like guy, so I'm guessing you can afford to make a long distance call to the south hemisphere: His cell phone is (56) 09-8555438. His local phone is (56)(2) 2782608. Dub dub bap ba dup.

Or maybe not. We're not good enough for you, are we, white boy? Well, go to hell!

So. I bought a photo album of a lot of things from the '90s today. It has photos!

We'll cook dinner on the grill out back, and then I have to head to the grocery store to get stuff for my lunch. That's about it.

I may be on air for our annual auction this year. :D I got to read some items the other day, and they liked my voice, so it's a possibility.

hundreds of bucks for an international phone call attempting to speak to some guy who doesnt speak my language + thousands most likely for the sword vs. calling vermont with my nice long distance plan + the sword cost which i can haggle in my own language...

Oh my God, BB King is amazing. Tonight, I saw the Bobby Blue Bland Band open for the BB King Blues Band and both were incredible. When you have a Rock and/or Roll Hall of Famer open for you, that says a lot. By the last set, it started to rain pretty hard, which was a lot of fun, especially since it allowed me to move up to about the 4th row smack dab in the middle. I have to say, that concert rocked my socks across the block.

I've seen people come and go in this thread. I've seen them come back, and leave again. I've seen people completely dissappear in here. The same holds true for the whole forum. I've seen drama and harmony, ignorance and insight.

And I've seen people throw fits over the social politics of BBS threads too many times to care any more if someone feels like they aren't getting the attention they deserve.

So, that being said... You don't like the atmosphere? Think it has changed too much, or that it is full of idiots?

Then go somewhere else.

Or stay.

Whichever action you choose, just don't go and try and blame people for enjoying it for what it is, not what it was in some utopic memory of yours.

On every topic page, there is a link...

That opens a window...

That will send your mail for you, without ever leaving the browser...

And it will remember all the info you typed in...

Including your email addy, and the people to send mail to (up to 10 mods, for example)...

I actually heard of someone who was having it made, piece by piece. He had a swordsmith (blacksmith?) making the blade, a metalsmith the handle and pommel, etc, and I guess he had someone who could put it all together.

Oh, and
