My connection is sucking so badly right now. Which interferes with all of my plans for tonight. Liek, post on forums, play games.. um. Then maybe posting a bit more. I wish I could just moke something and listen to music, but my roomie and his brother are around. Disregarding the lack of anything to moke. Bah.
Will be home soon enough.

What is it, 6 or 7 with "UN" in the title? And probably a few more conversations have sprung up in unrelated threads...
I hate how looking around myspace makes me want to sign up. Main reason I never even clicked to facebook. Because of the urge... But I can't. It's filth.
I don't understand how my topics do so poorly in General. I mean, most people, even if they don't get a lot of replies, at least get a few flames. Bah.

The other thing thats begining to bother me is how many times people bring up the fact the US is resopnsible for ending WW2. Someone even said that the US is the reason we arent speaking German and slauting Hitler. Others say the French should be more grateful because we save dtheir ass in WW2.
Hello people, you joined the European theater in like what 1944? And you were only a portion of the force that invaded from the West side of Europe, with Russia taking the entire East.

And that is different from the book, how?
Think about it. The book had a sloppy, shoddy ending, too.

Bought "A Short Film about John Bolton" which is a Neil Gaiman writing and directing effort, it's really odd, but great. Well worth picking up.
Also, got five of the seven available Sin City trades now, just fucking kick ass work.

Nah, I know what you mean, everyone's got an opinion about the UN without alot of knowledge of what is really going on. I really don't know myself so I've been steering clear of them thus far. I can say this, I'm glad we've gotten a short break from the religion threads. I found myself starting to spend hours at a time looking up bible verses and occasionally reading entire books to get amo for my arguments. I think I now know the book of Job better than half of my bible-study, christian friends do.

Jumping Jesus batman! If you want to do something about the lack of diversity in the politicstopics, why not make one that's a little more to your taste? :/ I know I just crashed in here and eavesdropped on your conversation but... eh it's me, it's what I do, and I'm bored, sorry, plus it's my birthday so... let me have just one day :/

Here's your meditation mantra for the day; the punctuation keys are our friends, run on sentences are BAD. You do know what a punctuation key is, correct? It's one of those little keys off to the right side near the "Enter" key on your keyboard. Correct usage of those keys in any printed format has the tendency of making you be taken more seriously by the reader.
Now, onto the subject at hand; the game itself. IT'S A VIDEO GAME FOR CRYING OUT LOUD, GET OVERYOURSELF. Pull your head out of your ass, go outside (You remember what "outside" is, right? It's that place with trees and birds and stuff) and get some fresh air, give that one brain cell you have left a little bit of well deserved time off. I mean it's working so hard... it's just doing double overtime trying to wrap itself around the wonders of a computer keyboard AND the idea that your favorite video game's creator is in fact A FALLABLE HUMAN BEING.

Exactly what my plan is, I can't get pissed at the poor quality related to the book, if I have not read the book. Though, my favorite author, well one of my favorites, seems to have a couple of books that will be turned into movies, now I just hope that they do not get screwed up.
Perfect example: Lord of the Rings. I read through the entire trillogy and loved almost all of it (3rd book get into alot of useless detail in my opinion). Then when the first movie came out, I watched it and enjoyed it. The parts they cut out, perfectly understandable and it made the movie better. When the second movie came out, I was fucking pissed. It's like they used a surgeon’s scalpel while editing the first movie and a chainsaw with the second.
Can perfectly understand where you are coming from. The first one was good, after that, they went and screwed around. The Battle for Minis Tirith especially made me angry, damn movie making bastards.

It was my attempt at a very obvious and lame parody thread, which it seems people are taking serious. I was orginally thinking phone bill, but figured it would be too obvious and get locked.

HG2TG
(Spoiler Warning )
I liked it. It began with, and encompassed throughout the movie much of Adams' original work. It necessarily deviated from the plot in several instances to cater to a theatre audience, but the handiwork of Adams is characteristic when it does. The number of creative new scenarios and incidents were humourous and fit well into the plot.
All that was lacking was a few points from the book, which one cannot fault them for removing. Milliway's, I was looking forward to. The disproving of God (though a minor thing) was a favourite part of mine that I regret was cut. The extra emphasis on the romance thread of the plot was also very noticeable, which also detracted slightly from the absurdity.
Overall, however the film was both enjoyable and unpredictable. Even for old Adams fans there was new elements, new characters and new situations. The POV gun was particularly fun, as were the idea-seeking slappers. Beeblebrox was hilarious and flambouyant. Ford laid back and cool. Arthur was British and dynamic and Marvin characteristically depressed.
One cannot help but love the film. There are only minor objections to it, and we can sweep aside those related to missing/different events, as this is a unique work of Adams in its own right as much as the books.
Finally, it was the campaign "Don't vote for stupid", Dent's housecoat, and Zaphod's exuberance that pushed me from liking to loving this movie. Oh, that and the yarn. And the music. And the workers making Earth. And Zaphod's fight with Arthur. And the Vogon's forms. And the Vice-President.
A terrific film. So many little joys in it really add up to more than the sum of their parts.
Out of 10, I give this film a 42.

They're the lowest division of human beings. They deserve to be put into a concentration camp and swiftly hurled into an acidic vat of death. They ARE inferior.

No, I'm not hiding anything about my secret origins when it comes to spelling and punctuation. Nope. Not a thing.

Wait... if it's from one to ten, why do you give it forty-two? Forty two is larger than ten, but, that's the score it gets, so that means...
*head explodes*
That's not right.

Hmmm... Now I just need to find a way to score some acid..... However, I've never been able to find the trigger on a bottle of Colt 45. Maybe is under all the beer... there's only one way to find out....
