Send me a link. If it isn't gay, I mean. Well, lesbians are ok. In that case, send me and maus a link.

I dunno. Use your best judgement. And label it if is NSFW, which it should be.

Yea, that's pretty much how things are. At least for some of them, they live out in the sticks, away from all the corrupt cops and coke families. 2/3rd of the HPD is paid off by the Vietnamese cocaine families and most of the big-time growers.

(PS You'll love this comic. If you don't, I'll strangle jimsween. It's win-win. Just give it a try.)

Did it for a little while, but the therapist retired. Might give it a shot, since I have an almost phobic to anti-depressants (had some bad experience with Zoloft, and the Prozac incident a few days ago didn't help).

Indeed. Fortunately, I have never really had the urge to drink or do drugs myself. Some people have told me that I'm missing out, to try it at least once. But I've never wanted to. I've seen some of the effects, and listening to you guys talk about your experiences only turns me off more.

At any rate, welcome back Wraith.

And I'm a fan of that comic now Shrike. I remember seeing that "You Win/Sike!" one a while back and thought it funny, but the whole series has multiple levels of humor--there's laughs to be had from the very sublime to the most abstract in those comics.

And I'm having way too much fun with my thread in General.
Should I, being the lesbian neo-feminazi that I am, try to end it a second time?

I only ask because there may be a thread in general right now with something like that. I wont bother posting a link because that would only perpetuate the cycle, but Im sure if you went you woudlnt have too many problems picking out the thread based on its title alone.

I just think it all depends on how you present your material.

I agree. The problem is that most of the time, the people who are using rape as a shock humour device are the people who simply can't think of other things, and are therefore also generally inept at presenting it in a humourous manner.

Being a trained improvist-- I get away saying with many things at clubs and social circles. It's about timing, how to say it. It's about striking the metal when it is hot, so to speak.

Trained improvist, eh? Interesting. I'm somewhat ok at improv, but I don't really have time or money at the present time to pursue actual comedy training.

Situational-type comedy is one of my weaker points, anyway. My strengths lie more in, of course, shock humour, but also the more absurd side of observational humour (Ex: My perpetually clean mop theory, or my ideas on the benefits of having no arms).

I'm just waiting for my high school to have their next student performance night deal so I can get a crappy gig. Sure, it may suck, but I don't really have any other options at the moment.

i'm alright at improv. its one of my favorite things to do. i think in my school i'm one of maybe three people who can forget their lines and easily recover without an audience knowing something went wrong...and me being the lazy person, i tend to slack in remembering scripts and such. so it has happened a few times. i find that just moving on with diologue in nomral character speech paterns helps.

i can also bullshit my way out of getting into trouble for some reason. i mean, its not that i sweet talk people..i just am quick on my feet in a stressful situation. heh, i remember one time my friend and i were skat boarding in an area where we shoulden't have been. a cop stopped us and threatened to confiscate our boards (this put me into an angry state, due to the large ammount of money i ahd invested into my (then) new longboard) and so out of no where i was reciting some work of pure fiction to the police officer about how we were just passing through the spot on our way home from something or another and that it would be impossible for him to of seen us loitering there as if it were a skate spot.

Situational-type comedy is one of my weaker points, anyway. My strengths lie more in, of course, shock humour, but also the more absurd side of observational humour (Ex: My perpetually clean mop theory, or my ideas on the benefits of having no arms).

i'm best at scripts, sadly enough. i enjoy having a set thing to say. and then working my own little ways into it. i especially like loose comedy where i need to say certain things, but body movement and tone of voice is totally up to me.

I'm just waiting for my high school to have their next student performance night deal so I can get a crappy gig. Sure, it may suck, but I don't really have any other options at the moment.

we did an amazingly funny show this past winter with my drama class i'm in. we did "complete workds of william shakespere [abridged]" and it was a riot. one of those places where i had free form with the lines and such. and even a lot of improv

actually, on friday i'm off to the state championships in drama compitition with a two person peice i'm doing with my friend. we learned it, put or flare to it and competed in tourniments around the area, we went to 4. and placed 2nd in two, 1st in one, and 4th in another. so we got a full bid to go to the state tourniment, which is friday.

even if we dont go onto more rounds of the championship, we're still going to do our peice 5 times.

I've been noticing a lot lately and am just curious as to *why*. Are they just flamebait or is there some psychological experiment stuff at work?

Grr. I wanna play the complete version of Stick RPG that's in the Portal now, but I know I'd get absorbed, and I have work to do. -_-

I'm writing two things. One is an article about Red Rock Canyon in Nevada. Second, I have to do a book report. Has anyone read Unbowed ? It's a series of interviews with Algerian feminist Khalida Messaoudi. If you've read it, do you know what she's up to nowadays? I found a March 2003 article that says she's minister of the something or other--I'd have to pull up the page again to find out.

Anyway, if anyone has any general comments on Messaoudi, the book, or whatever, I'd love to hear them.

It's actually a bit of a tradition, really. It all started with a thread called "illegalize masturbation" where the logic used to illegalize drugs was applied to masturbation. The idea was to see why people accept a line of reasoning as valid dependent on the subject, and not the logical progression of the argument. The idea was also to understand the way that idiots think.

Many threads came about afterwards based on the concept from various issues. Since then it's migrated to General, where it's become wildly successful and hilarious. You should look up the original thread.
