I can see that the war is now seemingly inevitable, the US has spent billions of dollars, and has hundreds of thousands of troops in the persion gulf. So for all intents and purposes, the war has allready begun, its just a case of waiting until the troops cross the Iraqi border. What pisses me off about all of this, is that every channel you turn to; be it MTV, or MuchMusic(the canadian alternative to MTV) or CNN, or NBC, or ABC, or any of the meagre canadian television networks, even the channels that play childrens shows and cartoons. All you see on any channel, at any time of day, is the latest breaking developments in the "crisis in Iraq" I'm pretty sure if you switched to a porno channel (which i dont watch) you'd see that even porn has turned into pro war propaganda. Everything on TV is about the damn war. America has allready won the second gulf war and a shot still has yet to be fired by the conventional army, so why the incessant, all encompassing propaganda if you've allready won? Why cant I watch the news, or pretty much any show without it having war undertones? And in the news, all anti war protesters are shown as crazy, left wing radicals, I thought the news was supposed to be unbiased, but it has been very biased of late
So much for freedom of choice when no matter what you watch, its about the war.

"Countdown: Iraq" is the big thing around here. The Iraqi map in the background with crosshairs over it, and a nuclear weapon (an American one, to show how much intelligence the news lakcs) hiding behind everything.
Can we just hurry up and get this over with?

The news is like any other TV show, it puts on what sells. Nobody wants to hear about mild mannered people protesting they want to hear about people making the peace sign nude and men dressing up as women with rockets on thier crotches talking about oil plants (yes that happened) they nees to catch the attention of the people fast or else they will lose it.
So much for freedom of choice when no matter what you watch, its about the war.
theres freedom of speech too but you still have to pay to use the telephone because its a business and businesses need to make money or else there wouldnt be one. MY advice to you, get a dish.

Television news is probably the most biased thing in the world. Our right-wing Indianapolis Star controls Fox 59, and broadcasts whatever banter it wants people to believe. Oddly enough, most people can't put think link together of the Star owning 59, and The Washington Post owning a part stake in the Star.

Ahh... war coverage.
Once this thing gets underway, it will be on practically every channel.
I'm just irritated that CBS may pre-empt the NCAA Basketball Tournament for war coverage. Hey, I've been a vocal war supporter and still am, but dammit, if I can't see my Pokes play, I may just have to head down to Baghdad and finish Saddam myself.
Oh well. I'll gladly watch when they are reporting Saddam's demise.
