I just want to take a moment to say that, no matter what you think of the current situation, if you think we should go to war or not, remember that our troops are true heroes either way. During the Vietnam War, the American people treated our troops very badly just because they felt the war was unjust. Let's not have that happen again. Remember, they don't have a choice, in fact, they volunteered to give up that freedom of choice so that they could stand ready to defend your freedom and mine. Whatever your opinion of the Iraq war, please, don't take it out on our brave soldiers. Let's do what we can to let our men and women in uniform know that we love them either way.
Let's have a round of applause for our soldiers!

agreed. i have friends in the Gulf right now expecting to fight at any given moment. it would be a shame if they were to fight and be treated like dirt when they returned. all i know is that when they get back, i'm going to give them all a big hug and we'll go get some breakfast. love breakfast^_^

Agreed. We must remember that soldiers are not mindless killing machines; they do have opinions of their own and some of them differ from the popular opinion. I support our troops, especially those who want to fight for freedom and not just to pay for college. However, I feel like they are sheep being led to slaughter by a president without a clear set of goals. It's a sad situation.

It's not like your chief thought is "Hey, let me go kill some people!" The will of these soldiers to put their lives on the line for the betterment of the world is something that should be held in high regard, not degraded.

That's an idiotic notion and it shows your lack of thought.
Another stereotype, like 'blacks are gangsters', or 'everyone in britain loves tea'.... ugh
Anyway, the whole point of not supporting the war would be to keep americans and the innocent iraqi citizens from needless death. Saddam's a goat-fucker, but do we really need 20 american soldiers and thousands of iraqis to die just to displace him? nah-

i am finding your brief, sarcastic comments to be tiresome. since i've been here i might have only seen a handful of actual comments and well thought out opinion, if lucky, to your multitude of snide remarks. i would love it if you actually wrote more than two sentences at least 50% of the time. it's aggravating seeing your useless comments over and over again. as of this moment, i believe you to be a waste of space in this forum. if you want to write little one-liners, shove on over to the General forum.

Don't let Nemesisz bother you too much. He's sort of the comic relief, and when the forum needs a pinch hitter, he'll be there with the intelligent comment. We don't need pinch hitters much.

A few quotes....
"War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse."
-John Stuart Mill
"I do not believe that the men who served in uniform in Vietnam have been given the credit they deserve. It was a difficult war against an unorthodox enemy."
-General William C. Westmoreland
"I have never advocated war except as a means of peace."
-General Ulysses S. Grant
"In war, there are no unwounded soldiers."

In many countries today, saying something critical of the government or its military forces can get you killed. The only reason you can say something like that in a public forum without fear is that hundreds of thousands of these "losers" died to protect that freedom.
What about the soldiers who died to liberate Europe from the Nazis, and to protect our homeland from the Japanese in WWII, and to win our nation's independence in the Revolutionary War? If you think any of them is a loser, you are not worthy of the freedom they died to give you. Maybe when you have a few more years behind you, you will come to appreciate your freedom more, and the price that so many have paid for it. Until then, you should keep your absurd generalizations to yourself.
Look at the picture below. Dare you call it the resting place of "losers?"
