THIS IS LETTER WRITTEN TO THE HOLLYWOOD BUNCH FROM CHARLIE DANIELS ENJOY!! ITS ALITTLE LONG BUT GOOD. AND I AGREE WITH IT ALL SO FEEL FREE TO ATTACK ME AS WELL.

Ok, let's just say for a moment you bunch of pampered, overpaid, unrealistic children had your way, and the U.S.A. didn't go into Iraq.

Let's say that you really get your way, and we destroy all our nuclear weapons and stick daisies in our gun barrels and sit around with some white wine and cheese and pat ourselves on the back, so proud of what we've done for world peace.

Let's say that we cut the military budget to just enough to keep the National Guard on hand to help out with floods and fires.

Let's say that we close down our military bases all over the world and bring the troops home, increase our foreign aid, and drop all the trade sanctions against everybody.

I suppose that in your fantasy world, this would create a utopian world where everybody would live in peace. After all, the great monster, the United States of America, the cause of all the world's trouble, would have disbanded its horrible military, and, certainly, all the other countries of the world would follow suit. After all, they only arm themselves to defend their countries from the mean old U.S.A.

Why, you bunch of pitiful, hypocritical, idiotic, spoiled mugwumps. Get your head out of the sand and smell the Trade Towers burning. Do you think that a trip to Iraq by Sean Penn did anything but encourage a wanton murderer to think that the people of the U.S.A. didn't have the nerve or the guts to fight him?

Sean Penn, you're a traitor to the United States of America. You gave aid and comfort to the enemy. How many American lives will your little "fact finding trip" to Iraq cost? You encouraged Saddam to think that we didn't have the stomach for war.

You people protect one of the most evil men on the face of this earth and won't lift a finger to save the life of an unborn baby. Freedom of choice, you say?

Well, I'm going to exercise some freedom of choice of my own. If I see any of your names on a marquee, I'm going to boycott the movie. I will completely stop going to movies if I have to. In most cases, it certainly wouldn't be much of a loss.

You scoff at our military, whose boots you're not even worthy to shine. They go to battle and risk their lives, so ingrates like you can live in luxury. The day of reckoning is coming when you will be faced with the undeniable truth that the war against Saddam Hussein is the war on terrorism.

America is in imminent danger. You're either for her or against her. There is no middle ground.

actually i have the most respect for those that put their lives on the line... i personally dislike the idea of being shot at, which is why i want to go into the political arena and change things... the war on terror is not a WAR against SADDAM... The U.S. is not the world police, and it isn't even their interest to destroy Saddam, their interest is O I L(Iraq holds 70% of the world's oil supplies). Now if you think all of this made up evidence justified a war on the Iraqi people, then, fuck you. Iraq doesn't propose an iminent threat to the U.S. citizens, this current administration does.

Disgusting...all governments are pure filth, they never work for the people, only for the rich. Wow you sure are angry. Seriously, I think after hearing all of these ignorant Hollywood types who have no inkling of what is really going on rant and whine for "peace", it's refreshing to hear a celebrity voice his opinion for the other side. Celebrities have the right to their opinion too, but what Sean Penn did was a pure publicity stunt. He should have found a better way to voice his opinion, such as a simple statement, like what Mr. Daniels did here. In my opinion, going to Iraq to protest the war does nothing more than imply support for Saddam.

In defense of the sanity of some of these people, I issue this warning: all actors stop doing the crazy political thing. Especially George Clooney. While I respect his being anti-war and bringing publicity to the movement, the poor guy really has no clue what he's being fed. He's just reading prepared lines. His idea on foreign policy and internal affairs is lacking at best.

I really think what most actors/actresses have to say is really irrelevant. The only celebrity that I ever thought had a strong argument was Janeane Garofalo. If you ever watch Crossfire (the extremly one sided/but sometimes unbiased argument show on CNN..yeah I know, corporate media sucks but it's funny to watch sometimes), you should download the video of her talk she had with the 2 goons posing as right/left (they're both the fucking same).

But anyways, they should use their publicity and money to feed the poor, they should donate to causes that better help the anti-war movement and not their ego. It's mostly a publicity stunt.

I wish people arguing against this post were slightly more eloquent. It would give a little bit more validity to our claims. Well, whatever. This Charlie Daniels has just as much right to make his statement than Hollywood actors. Still, I disagree with some of his points. He talks about how if you held an anti-war rally in some hole in Georgia, then it wouldn't get as much support. Well, of course it wouldn't. The anti-war rallies (and I have been to three of the SF ones) are held in diverse, broad-minded cities like San Francisco and New York. If the senselessly jingoistic residents of Georgia disagree with what's going on, then they'll express their views through letters like this, and through their voting. (these people are how George W. got elected, right?) These celebrities are using their fame to stand up for what they believe in, just as Charlie Daniels is using his "fame" to promote war.
And seriously, if you're on my side, don't make us look as stupid as them with posts like: "YER ALL KKK REDNECK FUCKING PIECES OV SHIT". That's just letting them win.

I don't plan on writing anything long... just a little bit on what I think. Some of it has been said before, pretty much everything has been said before but it got kinda mangled in a sea of bitter hatred ^_^;.

I just think it's funny that Bush promotes protecting the US, or protecting anything on this world when North Korea openly has more than Iraq. It took them forever to find anything to hold against Iraq, not even sure if they have, just going with what I've picked up.

So, N. Korea poses a big threat, yet we go after small fries we KNOW we can beat. Sure he has weapons, but he hasn't been clearly linked to the 9/11 attacks or anything recent against America. If so, the media would make sure it wasn't a secret since they're sometimes even forced to be Pro-Bush.

So why the hell aren't we after Korea? Or have Osama? It's got to be the oil.

It's dangerous to take on North Korea too though. They've got allies and provoking attack by going in there is a dangerous thing to do. It might be safer not to poke lions with big sharp sticks.... You might call it cowardly but, I just call it common sense.

But, I am young and I can't affect the outcome of this in any way at all. I'll just live on in ignorance, and if the world blows up, so be it. The government will get to do whatever it wants anyway, and the big buisinesses and the rich will always dominate the law and influence politics.

We're going to get stuck, we're going to piss eachother off, and then we'll be all going down in flames. But I won't worry, because there's not a god damn thing I can do. Why waste time and emotion?
