Last night I had two nightmares that both woke me out of my sleep in a panic.

There's the short version for the Newgrounders with ADD (about 95% of you) and also the long version for anyone who cares:

********************************
Short Versions
1) I walked into my kitchen where my dog was barking at something out the back door. When lightning flickered I saw someone kneeling at the back door trying to break in. I woke up in a panic.

2) A large man walked in to my house who resembeled The Hunchback Of Notre Dame. Despite my efforts to hit him with the door he continued to walk in. Later he had disguised hmiself as a gypsy woman, and I woke up when I pointed out his disguise and said "There you are!".

Long Versions

1) I was flying around my neighboorhood (I think using an umbrella, like Mary Poppins) which had nothing but dead grass and bushes everywhere for some reason. I had a dog who was in the backyard (I don't own a dog in real life), and I swooped down and screeched at the dog like a banshee. The dog panic and jumped on top of the house. Later I took the dog and went inside. It got very dark outside and started to storm. I walked into my kitchen where my dog was barking at something out the back door. The kitchen lights were off, but when lightning flickered I saw someone kneeling at the back door trying to break in. I woke up in a panic. After a short time I went back to sleep.

2) I lived in an old creepy mansion with my daughter (I don't have a mansion or a daughter in real life either). We were loking at some creepy paintings when a large man walked in who resembeled The Hunchback Of Notre Dame. Despite my efforts to hit him with the door he continued to walk in. Suddenly we were looking at paintings again, when my daughter pointed out the man again. I go after him but the scene changes yet again. I was now talking to a gypsy woman in my house about how to get rid of this man. She wore large robes that covered much of here face. I saw a protruding forehead coming out of the veil so I pulled it aside, and saw the Hunchback's deformed eye on the side of his head staring at me. He had disguised himself. I pointed my finger at him and said "There you are!" I woke up from the dream at this point, and in real life I had pointed my hand forward and blurted something out. I went back to sleep for the last time that night.

*************************************
Well, that's it. I rarely have nightmares, and I found it particularly odd that I had two in one night. Nothing frightening has happened in my life recently, so I'm not sure why I would suddenly have nightmares.

Does anyone have any ideas what might have caused this?

No, haven't seen many movies at all lately. Definately not the Steve Irwin thing.

Yes, actually. How does that cause nightmares though?

Lol, as long as it was worth it in the end.

That's a bad one, I might have had that happen before. I hate when you wake up from them and you're in this state of delusion where you still think the nightmare is going on.

Yeah, I've had the dreams where you wake up within a dream. I hate them.

You don't have scary dreams if you have nothing to be scared of. Are you aware of a disease titled Y.C.T.M.S

Phew freaky. I had three dreams in one night the other night. I slept for a whole 14 hours, and they were all really detailed ones that I remembered after.

I remember having a nightmare like one of those which u wake up from, but u dont,

I was stood in my room, and i saw my teacher outside, so i got my knife out, creeped behind her and slit her throat, i woke up in panic. Only to hear noises coming from my kitchen, so i got downstairs this time to find my teacher WITH the knife. i run liek hell, fall off and into the water near our house after runnign through the pitch black woods.
Finaly i was stoodin my room again, then i couldent take it anymore so i jumped off my house and woke up in a sweat (finnaly) but i thourally enjoyd killing in my dream)

Well, if you sleep that long you might want to try out lucid dreaming. I've been trying for a while but I haven't gotten it yet. Look for threads about it here on the BBS, or on Google.

I had a dream about green hands I.C.B.Y.T was the actual disease by the way

What does that stand for and what is it?

Hmm, maybe after I fell asleep I was still panicked so my brain made some dream up to reflect the panic. Maybe.

Weird dream. Not that there are any "normal" dreams, but weird dream none the less.
