Chaos Faction deserved weekly first.
Not to be cranky or anything, but how is this possible? StarCraft: The Hunt 2/2 gets weekly 2nd without a daily eventhough it currently has a higher score than daily feature, and I submitted the thing yesterday so it should be in there even if it was too late for yesterdays awards. part one should be on there too, with 4.20/5! I was hoping for a lot more coverage for this 2 month project, and I know which awards they should've got, so yes - I do feel robbed!

Ok so you submitted before 9PM EST right. Meaning your flashes should of gotten awards that day. However, I am guessing your movies did not make it out of judgement in time of the awards being announced and for some reason NG doesn't count them. (correct me if I am wrong) but I have seen this happen a few times. One example of this is the movie "ThrowBack the duck" which should of got daily first aswell as his weekly 2nd award. You could try emailing Tom about it or lilJim but yeah it is really unfair and they should fix this.

Yeah. It sucks. You have the right to be pissed. I would be.
This is why I watch the times I submit mine.
Oh well, you'll be blessed with a long time on the front page and tons of views from Starcraft fans, and really, popularity is better than awards. So look at the bright side.

I've had my movies miss out the day they were submitted before but they've always had their chance the next day. If you were trying to get work with something like flash, saying you've got a bunch of awards is much more powerful than 'lots of people watch my movies' so I'm pretty peeved, since that's what I'm legitimising all my 'wasted time animating when i could be doing webdesign' with - getting a background of awards. I'm really upset, and I don't think I want to let it rest - unfortunately due to it being 1am or something NG admin time I just have to wait I suppose. I've PM'ed Tom. Thanks for your words guys, it'll help me through the evening, heh :(

I'm not so sure about that. Anyone can give anyone an award.
However, when I say to someone, "yeah, this animation got over 500,000 views" they're usually somewhat impressed.
But yeah, the awards really do make you feel like your time was worth it

Oh yea views are definately more impressive to those in the know - but to people who don't know this kinda thing too well, they wouldn't know if something getting 120 000 views was good or not. Yea, I'd just like something tangible in my profile marking the 2 months I spent on this animation which reflects the work and just rewards a working democratic process should've yeilded in this situation, heh. We'll see how it pans out I suppose - thanks again.
First of all, it does kinda suck that you missed out on a daily award, but hey, you got weekly 2nd place. Weekly awards are way more prestigious than dailys as there is 7 times more competition. You also got #2 and 6 on the top 50 all all time list which is also something to be pretty pleased about...
But secondly, to be fair 2 months really isn't that long to spend on a decent flash. I'm quite suprised you managed to do all that in 2 months. Chaos Faction (my latest game, #1! woo!) took 14 friggin months to make, and I know others who have spent even longer.
Hey, it's happened to me before as well.. it really sucked because I missed out on alot of coverage I think the submission should have recieved... nothing to do about it though. Just the way the system works. I'd rather say my submission recieved 100,000+ views than say it recieved a weekly second place award to someone. Most employers or folks not familiar with Newgrounds wouldn't understand the importance of an award like that. But the amount of views and good reviews it recieves IS noteworthy no matter what. Many professional flash authors don't even submit to Newgrounds, yet they land jobs and such because of their talent and amount of popularity; without any Newgrounds awards.
Im twice disappointed... First because StarCraft is a great series and with 4.40 (yea the part 2/2 had that score before the zero voters came) it deserved daily feature way more than the Steve Irwin Croc Heaven(nothing against it but it was way too short, still good tho) and part 1/1 deserved a a high award too since it had 4.30. And second now because NG failed in my opinion.. With so many years they could have fixed this "bug" before it prejudices authors like logfish... Well it sad because I really like NG....

You have a point there, but some people just watch the daily features, so you got many more viewing with the award, so the award is "necessary". Also it should be cool to have the award in your profile, something that doesnt happens with the number of views.
I hope someone fix this bug and give StarCraft the award it deserved, but it should be unfair with the Croc Heaven flash, so what about 2 daily features?
Also I hope NG fix it so it doesnt happens again =/

I think Tom always sees things like this from the viewpoint of the author rather than the audience, so I wouldn't be too surprised if you get the extra award. Personally I'd kill for a weekly award as opposed to daily, but I guess that both would be even better. It's fairly rare to get games in the weeklies though, movies always seem to tend to get preference from the general viewers, even if more time/effort was spent on the game (this is not a personal comment, just a general observation)

It's not anything against logfish personally, it's just a matter of timing and/or a glitch in the system - it could happen (and has happened) to anyone. Definitely worth bringing to Tom's attention though.

It's a bloody great game! Absolutely no complaints about the weekly feature there, totally deserved - I MEAN to spend another month polishing my movies up to a stunning quality, but I never bother. Shocking really.
I'm chuffed about the weekly 2nd - I know it's the best award I've got yet, but I'm just bummed it didn't get daily feature as well, as it legitimately warranted. And it is nice having more awards on the old profile, heh. Now at quick glance it looks like part 1 isn't even worth watching!
Dusty, you're right, awards aren't everything - the frontpaging and reviews are the real kickbottom about NewGrounds - but they are nice to have too heh, and I should get what's coming to me. But you can do something about it, I PMed Tom, he's replied and is now again aware of the bug and is endeavouring to fix it and rectify the problem. Hopefully that'll mean getting the awards I deserved AS WELL AS the other people, because it's pretty rough to take it off people too lol. It's a bugger, I guess I'll be submitting my stuff at 3am New Zealand time from now on so there's less risk of being shafted in future. The point is I shouldnt have to! heh.
Thanks for your coversation fellas it's lightened the pain knowing it's happened to others too.
Starcraft 2/2 got the weekly, but it deserved at least some daily award. but, then StarCraft 2/1 was totally left out. That baby deserves something as well. It's score is higher than either day's winners, so you're missing out on a 1st and 2nd place, in my opinion.
Front page is one thing, but that doesn't go into your profile or onto your movie. The awards do. And there's nothing to be more proud of than awards all over your movie or game.
Hopefully you get what you deserve and you deserve a couple awards. I'm sure Tom or Wade or somebody that can fix it will be all over it. At least I sure hope so.

I know its not anything against him personally, but it happened to him so I just gave a example you know, and if its the first case then it should have been fixed before. But I think I was a bit harsh on my words as well, after all NG is big awesome site with so many features that is difficult to have everything working, so its ok but it needs to get fixed now :P
And btw this is the first time I talk with you Denvish so I want to say that you made the most AWESOME song on newgrounds!! :D
Whoa, I'm the 7 of <3 on NG hold' em!
lol, i love how the quote for weekly 4th is that it's mediocre
