use a tracker. Doesnt get simpler than that - the only catch is you have to actually be smart to use it.

I tried something called Melody once. It was quite nice. I don't know where you can get it. It was a MIDI application and the music is wrote out on the score. It's a really LARGE program though, and it takes a while to understand it. I don't know many applications that are any simpler than that though unless you know how to use a Piano Roll.

no way, don't use anything els, use these, they're great for beginners:

FlexiMusic Composer
Great for total n00bs. It can be found at www.fleximusic.com. It has a free trial version, but the full version is $20. It's a great program, though.

MadTracker
This is also an amazing program. It's easy to learn and use, and is great for beginners, but is also very powerful for more experienced MadTracker users like me. Just import instruments and sequence your song, easy! It can be found at www.madtracker.org.

Please take these programs into consideration, as they are great for making audio.
But please note: these programs DO NOT make MP3s. FlexiMusic Composer makes WAVs, and MadTracker makes OGGs and MIDIs. So you'll have to convert to MP3.

Thanks,

He was looking for something simple. Most of those programs are either Editors or really complex programs. Even the simple ones are too complicated for him. He just wants to easily make some music. The only one in that list that would be good for him would be Finale. He didn't deserve that whole "OMFG N00B!" Calm down.

I've never heard of all that software before. Cause I'm sound engineering, I use Cubase, but since that's around £300 you might not wanna go there! I used to use Cubasis for £50 but that's as far as I know. Have a look at this.

I've used Rave Ejay and Techno 4 for years and both are pretty easy to understand and cheap to buy. I must admit that FL 5XXL is much more difficult to get the hang of but once you do it's a very powerful music program.
