Anyone like football?

Any NGers into the NFL? I know I am. Since the 2006 season kicks off in one week, it's time for some shameless self-promotion. I have a little side-project "for fun" website (I make no money off it) called MyFootballPool. For those that don't know, a football pool involves predicting who will win NFL games.

This year, I'm running two free pools that are open to the public, and if you win, you get $100. You can see them (and sign up) by going to http://www.myfootballpool.com/join.

The first pool, Free Spread Pick 'Em, involves picking the correct winner of each NFL game against the spread. This means that you don't just pick a team to win, you pick a team to win by a certain amount of points. This is much harder than just picking teams to win.

The second pool, The Eliminator, is a survivor pool. This means that each week, you pick one team to win. If they win, you stay alive. If they lose, you're out. The last person standing wins, and the big catch is that you can't pick a team more than once per season.

If you'd like to play in either pool, simply go to http://www.myfootballpool.com/join and sign up. The more the merrier!

I've only recently got into 'football' as it is barely ever shown in the UK (I moved to the US one month ago), but I'll give the Eliminator a go. Can't say I have any idea who is good and who is bad as all I have seen is the playoffs/superbowl for the past few years, and a few preseason games this year, so I probably won't last long!

Not to go off on a complete tangent to the thread and destroy its purpose, BUT... American Football might be the most widely viewed sport on American Televisions, but Football (or soccer as you'd call it) is the most widely viewed and most widely participated-in sport in the world.

Real footballs are round, since that's what the word BALL means.
Real footballers don't get to rest up on the sidelines when the other team has the ball.
Real footballers can count: 90 minutes = 90 minutes, not 60 minutes= 4 hours.

I'm in on the eliminator pool. My mom actually does a football pool with her students. They just use pencils as prizes and they get a signed football at the end of the semester if they win. Still quite fun though.

DFox, it sounds like the e-mails are ending up in your spam folder. Do you have one you can check? Maybe your ISP is filtering out what it thinks is spam, and not telling you?

This is a common (and annoying) problem with this sort of thing - legitimate automated e-mails being regarded as spam. Spammers have really ruined it for the rest of us.

Nah, that's not it. I have a virtual dedicated server which I use for my email, that has it's own smtp server.

I've never had a problem receiving automated emails before.

I also made sure to check my spam bucket but it wasn't there.

Any ideas?
