Best way to quit?

We've all got addictions. Well, most NG users do, at least.

For some it's weed, others it's sniff-material, some other fellows shoot crap up their arms, and for even more people it's porn, porn and more porn.

Sooner or later you realize that you're basically fucking your body up big-time, even though it feels really really good while you do just that. So you realize that you've got to quit, or you'll ruin a part of your own self. The Weed and Drugs in general screw up your mind and are a major health risk, while the porn material ruins your sex drive and is absurdly disrispectful towards women in general.

It's hard to quit. I know I've been trying, and I don't seem to be able to get there, no matter how many times I promise myself that I'll quit once and for all.

So I'm wondering, is there anyone out there on NG that has any experience with getting over a major addiction? Someone who knows about a technique, about some necessary skill or some general method?

I was addicted to Fanta Orange, I would've drink 20 cans per day. I did cold turkey and took water instead of Fanta, even how hard it was to resist.

you cant get physically addicted to weed. if you just hold yourself off from it for 2-3 months, you can have complete controll. and then you'll only go back if its fun =D

If it's cigarettes, what you do is go out and buy some "super light", cheap brand.

They are so horrible that you quit. But at the same time they fulfill the physical addiction.

It's genius actually. Your mental fondness for smokes dies in just a few short days, and your physical addiction just becomes your enemy, because it makes you smoke those god awful shit-sticks.

Try using that format and apply it to your addiction.

If it's porn, watch some really shitty porn that barely gets you off.

That way you start to hate it. And at the same time, you fulfill your "must have porn now" impulse.

Slowly but surely, you'll get tired of jerking off to the vids of one porn star, and you'll move on to another one. Then another one. Then another one.

After a while, normal porn won't attract you any more. You'll go after fat girls, girls who look like they're 13, chained girls, screaming girls, then boys, then torture, and so on and so forth.

So after you get turned on by the sickest crap there is while you're watching porn, what do you think will happen if you get into a serious relationship with a real woman?

Either you'll be so exited at the prospect of finally doing those things you watched other people do for years you'll pretty much ejaculate as soon as you see her panties, or the reality of it all will turn you OFF, forcing you to take shit like viagra.

I don't have preocupant addictions. However I've never quit any of them except looking porn (the solution is getting a hot gf, thats all). If you really want to stop there is nothing you can't quit even if it has collateral symptoms like when you stop smoking (that's what ppl say, I don't know how is it).
