RyoumaNagare; look what i found VGDC sprites . Right click and view image, the thing is i think a lot of his sprites are made brighter in flash and put together in flash etc.

I've made 9 seconds of flash, it's not much yet. And i did running sprites for Samus' friend, the girl. Now i'm doing the boy's.

Now i'm not sure how to put noses on these sprites. I tryed a dark line but i don't know if it looks right. I need some help here.

Thanks for the site. Yeah, I also think that Randy makes his sprites a lot brighter in his flashes. Maybe because they don't come out right in Photoshop...? Because That happens with me sometimes.

Nah, what i ment was the sprite where he charges before he jumps. On the sheet it's bighter. But i think that sprite would have been made brighter in flash. I think he sometimes makes the behind background layer darker also. If not that's what i did :) it's a common technique, also to make the background layer infont move faster in the camera scroll.

I have changed mh site's look :D here it is: ngcheeks i made a topic in general also to see what some people think.

It's time for shading excersise #Ifuckinglostcountdamnit!!!!

the point is to make a large, highly compartimentalised, sprite, and shade every part, NOT looking at how you did the other parts.

By the end of it, reshade the parts you began with, and which are more likely than not, inferior to those you just finished.
When you finish up with those, redo everything that looks inferior in comparison to those, and rinse and repeat until the overall quality is equal on every part of your sprite.

That's a good way of doing it :D i sometimes do that with the arms, legs, head etc. But with smaller 16-bit characters. Anyway good start :)

Look, I know you're trying to help, but I just wanted to say that the same method doesn't work for everyone. Maybe being kicked down helps YOU get back up again, but for some people, it doesn't. Mike gave you his answer, albeit not in a very good way, either, and if he wants to do things his own way, that's his choice. He may not be getting much better the way that he's doing things, but it's his choice. He will eventually find a way that works for him, and when he does, he'll be able to improve exponentially, but when someone else's ways are forced on him, he may be discouraged, and may do more harm than good.
And such harsh language is quite unneccessary in any circumstance, and not appropriate for a site with younger or sensitive visitors. I know I have no right to censor you, I'm just asking you to consider what you type before posting. Thank you for reading, and sorry for the rant.

But hell... I'm prone to getting mad and swearing.
But I don't see any problem with using "harsh language".
The world's a hard enough place, And I sure as hell don't wanna see it turn into some kinda demolition-man (the movie with stallone, I believe) place.
Some of the stuff on tv, just in commercials borders on soft-porn these days, so there's definitely no need to get anal about a bit of swearing.
Look at the times WE grew up in, and our generation turned out ok. Even better than some, if not most of the older models.

And if you call THAT a rant, you should see me in action when I get really mad...

I swear often. It's just words with a deaper hidden meaning XD watch the flash "the history of the F word" it shows how F*ck can be used to explain stuff. Also Mike is probably the youngest person in the sprite club, he's the youngest person i know over the internet and he swears :P

As long as no one goes grassing to mods it won't matter. I got mad and kicked in my friends locker and he grassed and that's why i was suspended for a day.
Sometimes you just have to swear, eg: a very anoying person= a bastard! lol

Now i think i've just about finished my site (for now) i've fixed it up a bit but it's still a little plain, but here it is.

UGH!! Did I actually _SAY_ that?!?!?!?!? Sorry bout that, guess I switched to defense mode ^-^; *sweatdrop* Didn't mean to, though I still do believe that swearing is unnecessary, that's my opinion, and I can USUALLY keep it to myself.

I don't know how your spriting WAS, but as it seems, your shading needs more contrast.
(too bright, and your colors are too much alike.)

And your humanoid joshi needs thicker legs.

your castle looks pretty impressive, but don't forget your perspective.
The bottom of the castle is seen from perspective, but the towers from directly up front...
You might want to round them a bit.

Hey Sprite Club, long time no see! I'm coming to you guys for some help please.

I'm looking for a 2D sprite ,16 or 32 bit, of a cargo plane and a 2D scene from inside one as well. Doesn't have to be from the same game. I can rip this myself too if you can suggest the games that have them.

I think they are good. Maybe you could make palettes for them which are made from nintendo sprites and get as many shades in there as possible. It's just the Mario with a crown and sword that looks odd. One leg's fatter than the other. The only other sprite that looks odd is the big yoshi sprite, he has skinny legs and the tail looks wierd.

All the castle sprites and Mario sprites look great though!

So, i've made a little flash. But i havn't gotten to the good part yet :( i really want to animate Ridley and the Space Pirates.
And if anyone wants a banner linked to there site on my site, that would be good as long as it's 88 x 31.
I made sprites of the kid walking. And gave the large faces noses:

It's really nice. I love the sword style, it seems kinda FF-ish :D May I suggest that you round the edge a bit more, though, it looks a bit akwerd, with the angle changing so sharply.

Hm.... Personally, I liked the girl better with the flat line you gave her as a nose last time. The guy's nose fits him well, though.
