I HATE Freya. It's not that I find it hard, it's just so repetitive and SHITTY. It's like Cochise from GH1, but way worse and 10x longer.

I second that Freya-hating motion. The repetitiveness of it is extremely annoying. I 5-starred it, and am done with it for good. I may play it occasionally, but it just isn't that fun.
As for others I hate, The Breaking Wheel from GH1 comes to mind. It's so hard to get the rhythm on that one for some reason. It's hard on Misirlou too, but at least that song is fun to play. I also hate the song Sail Your Ship By, not because of the notes, but because it sucks. As does Farewell Myth (many GHI bonuses suck I think).

I am very excited at the moment though becuase I just did a playing session of GHI, and 5-starred Farewell Myth, then Frankenstein, and then Bark at the Moon on, all on expert. That leaves me at 44/47, with Texas Flood, Cowboys from Hell, and The Breaking Wheel left.

Oh, and looking at scorehero.com right now, I am angered. The 5-star cutoff for CFH is 257,619. I got 257,314-ish. Somewhere around 257,300. Which means, 2 more 4x notes and I would have had it! Grrr....oh well, there is always tomorrow.

BTW, anyone in this group registered on there? I am thinking about it, but I don't want to know how many people are actually kicking the crap out of me score-wise :P

We must not have gotten to Freya yet, come to think of it, we haven't played in a few days. but right now both Me and Myself absolutly HATE Psychobilly Freakout. I doesn't mind it though, which is suprising. he tends not to like that kind of song.

Oh without a doubt psycobilly freakout is the worst song in the game imo, its one of the 5 songs i cant 5 star on expert (not including bonus songs)

I don't like ScoreHero. I'm too busy and lazy to get into that site, I just play the games.

As for competition, we have to have another contest. The last one was just me vs. Jercurpac, and he isn't quite up to snuff :)

I just registered for a Scorehero account earlier, but after uploading scores for about 3 songs, I decided that it would drive me to play a lot more than I want to. Also, to get a good rating, I would have to constantly replay songs as I often miss 1 or 2 notes on some I could 100%, so I would play non-stop until I didn't miss a note, which would be more frustrating than fun.

As for the contest, what does this contest entail, hmm? I am intrigued.

I played today and upped to 175k.

Got back into playing GH today and had a crazy marathon that left my arms and finger sore. The end result was some improved scores and fives stars on bark at the moon in GHI Crazy on You and Tattooed Love Boys. Crazy on You should have been five starred much sooner, but I'm just not a fan of the song and don't play it. Tattooed Love Boys on the other hand was just one of those pesky songs that I couldn't perfect, like Cochise and No One Knows in the original. The end result was me officially having five starred 75% if the GHII main list song. Hooray for numbers rendered significant merely for their ability to be divisible by five.

Also, I came up with a great idea for a contest. Prepare yourselves for the merciless onslaught of The Guitar Hero Iron Finger Showdown 2007. The basic idea is to go through the song list from Shout at the Devil to Freebird with no more than a minute break between songs. Add up the total of your scores and see whose skill and endurance reigns supreme. If you're interested post and we'll come up with a time and date.

I'm considering buying the game. I'm not sure about it though, so as being optimistic about its greatness I'd be glad if you could make a list of pros and cons. One bad thing about it would definitively be the price. But I'll see whether you can talk me into it or not, but don't just advertise the product, I'd love to hear some honest critique.

Guitar Hero, my friend has it for the ps2, its a good game though, just wondering, can anyone play that game on the highest difficulty, i tried, fucking solid =D

Many times I'll screw up in a song, missing HO/POs that are close together. Most times, it just requires me moving faster than I think I should be. That seems to work.

Also, start slow in practice and work your way up in speed.

Hammer-ons and pull-offs are fucking tricky. I'm just getting to the point where I feel comfortable hitting frets without using the paddle. I wouldn't worry too much about them for now. They're more of a final step towards mastering the game sorta' thing rather than something that's necessary to be sucessful on harder difficulties.

There are no Gamestops (that I know of) in my city. There are some EB's, but no Gamestops. I believe EB is owned my Gamestop, but I doubt EB is actually holding any tournaments.

If they were, well then I'd be preparing right now for some major ass-kicking.

Oh, and I was at a friends today playing GHII. We went through the entire main song list, plus about 10 extras on Co-op. Then we went to GHI. I was beating him by a lot for a bit, then I tried playing behind my back (it was hard), and then we both went Lefty Flip (both right handed) and played on Easy, there were some close ones.
I ended up being there for about 8 hours. It was pretty fun.

I'd check the Gamespot tournament list. The EB near my work is holding a tournament and just my my luck I'm off on the third. The list is pretty extensive so chances are an EB or Gamespot near you is participating. Check it out.

Thanks for the link Jerc, but the thing is is that I am in Canada. I am right across from Detroit, and while I am sure I could get to some of those places in Michigan, I'd be needing a ride, and I don't know if anyone would be willing to drive me out there just to play some Guitar Hero :P

Although, it would be fun to be in a tournament.

Hate to double post, but I'm just in too much of a good mood.

Firstly, I managed to get some work done on my GH flash. Not a whole lot, but more than I've done so far, so that's good I guess.
Secondly, playing some more GHI, I managed to 5-star Texas Flood, which means I'm at Guitar God status in that game, and now have everything bought with a 5-star on every expert song. Sad and awesome at the same time.
Thirdly, I found out that I am able to get a ride out to Troy, MI on saturday for one of the tournaments there. It's time to start practicing!

I can't wait for Saturday now. I've been playing long enough that I think I'd be quite good for a tournament.

Seems the whole tourny was a bust. I HAD to play at Expert Level so I left.

The whole thing was unorganized for a fucking T-Shirt.

Oh well, two months until GHII on the 360.

I completely missed out on the GHII tournament, too much homework. It wasn't really necessary for me to spend all day on it, but I enjoy the classes so I'd actually like to learn something this semester instead of just retaining the bare minimum necessary to get a low A and forget it all next week.

As for my area, the 2 Gamestops near me had no idea of any GH tournament. Calling some palce and complaining about the stores a few times didn't do much, so oh well.

No big deal though, because a friend of mine and I are going to host our own in this city some time soon. There are a lot of people that play in this area, so it should be good if we can get everything put together.
