Lay Down is a most excellent song.

I beatexpert today, nailed lous ass with a whammy on his first set of greens, which is a win as far as im concerned, not like i cheated or anything kek.
I went into part two in flashing red though, scared the shit out of me.
Playing dragonforce in the credits was fucking awesome though, don't know if ill ever try and beat it for real, but it was kick ass to not have to play it in practice.

My other favorite paths in this game are "666" and "la grange" just fun to play those jams.

I just got the meet your maker achievement after beating some person online. It sounds rare from the description, but I might be wrong. Anybody know if it's something to be proud of?

It's supposed to be, but there's a lot of issues with the achievements. I think people were earning that achievement even when they were losing the match. It's pretty common now. I got it while playing someone who was so bad at the game they just quit halfway through the first song. Other achievements are fucked up too. I was fucking around on easy mode and I played through four songs with the standard 360 controller. I got bored went back to the expert career screen and I unlocked the "Get a Guitar Already" Achievement. You're supposed to beat an entire hard or expert career to earn it.

Meet your maker is viral. Anyone who has it can give it to others who beat them, but people have been getting it regardless of win or loss.

And the get a guitar achievement is very bugged.
I beat expert with my guitar, then turned the guitar off, and turned a controller on. Before I could even get to the song list, I got the achievment.

Oh, and the star power mania one, where you have to use star power three times on TTFAF, it has to be done on quickplay.

Wow. I just got Guitar Hero 3 for my Wii today, for my birthday...wow. That is an awesome game, it's the first time I've ever really played GH, unfortunately. Knowing you all as experts of rock, I have a question....Is it a good sign or a bad sign if your nose bleeds after your first rock out? I hope it's a good thing.

Raining Blood is still a bitch on Hard. Doubt I'll beat it for a while...makes me wonder about expert, though...<shudders>

Anyways, beat Medium because I was bored and fed up with hard. Got Lou, everyone else unlockable, a few alternate costumes, and all the songs. Yes, including Through the Fire and Flames. First time through on Expert, I managed 61% of the notes hit (pratice mode, if you didn't figure that out by now). I doubt I'll be able to beat that for quite a long time. Of course, I'll laugh if I beat that before I beat Jordan on GH2. Or if somebody FC's it. (fat chance)

My only gripe is the difficulty spike. At first, it's cake walk, but when you get to the lower tiers, you're like, "What the fucking hell?!" That, and I hate how some areas that should have HO/PO don't. TTFaF on Hard is a good example. "They're Hammer-Ons", my ass.

Oh well, still a fun game.

I feel so left out, I don't have GH3 yet...

I feel like a fukkin G when i play the metal on expert. how sattisfying.

Yeah, I lost against someone on live for my first game and I got that achievement.

I finally found someone who is at the same skill level as me, and doesn't live 8 billion miles away. A guy on the third floor of my residence has the PS2 version. He beats me occasionally. I think I lost 3/ 10 games tonight.

But this means I have someone to do co-op with! We five starred some songs, got the 1000 note streak, and an FC before he left. About friggin time....

as for my fav song, lay down is a pretty good song. that, knights of cydonia, and one are my fav songs on gh3.

apparently on the XBOX version there is a glitch where if you enter the unlock all cheat you unlock all the achievements it triggers, and they stay there...
also the 'beat career w/ a dualshock' just have a dualshock in and choose career, expert, it SHOULD just give you the achievement

I hate kids who purposely pick a song that they can tell that you hate just by the song that you pick.

After beating expert, hard mode was a walk in the park. It was then that i realised though that barring a few songs, hard mode is actually easier on gh3 than it is on gh2. This of course makes the jump from hard to expert that much more painful. I'm starting to feel even worse for the casual people :(

I actually think that is a good thing. The transition between hard and expert on GH1, 2 and 80's was incredibly small. I think it will be good for those who haven't played Guitar Hero before and get number 3. For me and other "pros" :D it will be a little bit pointless. I remember back when I tried hard mode, it was such a huge step, it took weeks to beat the first 5 songs. I guess if its more smooth, it will be an easier transition.

Anyways, I don't know if GH3 is actually like that yet since it doesn't come out here until tomorrow. I can't wait to get it.

the first time i was introduced to GH was on my 18th birthday. (i'm 19 now). I got GH2 for it and i was able to clear easy and medium within a couple of months, but when i hit hard (and eventually expert), it took me a really long time to beat both, but after that it got easy. the same was for GH1 & 80's. However, i was pleased with the difficulty in 3 because i actually failed a song in the 5rd tier (before i forget, i believe) and it took me 3 weeks to beat it. and don't even get me started on the last tier.

so yea, i think the transition was a little steep, but not too bad. i hope they make GH4 even more of a challenge, it was too easy when harmonix was working on it. good job activision and neversoft! i don't think that they will have much of a challenge, since rock band's gonna bomb.

That about sums up my feelings of Guitar Hero 3 so far. Although really, the boss battles are super lame, simply because you can't play them outside of career. You should at the very least be able to select them as a possible battle.

KOC is a long, fucking boring misirlou. It's got a bunch of annoying odd strings and rythym sections and thats about it. Impulse is by far one of the premier songs in regards to being sex. Whatever floats your boat though <3

I actually liked the boss battles. They're immaterial to the actual meat of the game, but they're fun diversions. In any case it looks like we will eventually have the boss battles to play outside battle mode.

Oh god yes. Impulse is like five songs from different genres had a great big orgy and concieved a child. It was a sweet, sweet surprise the first time I played it.

Yeah, the boss battles are probably the best addition to the series, seeing as how pretty much everything else is the same. As for that link, I envy all you 360 owners...lucky bastards.

playing the guitar battles against people wont be that special, someone will just lefty amp you in the third solo and thats game. It would be nice to be able to play them in quick play though. Damn ps2

btw, my new favorite gh3 song is 3's & 7's. the guitar riff is extremely catchy, especially when the lead guitar hook comes in. :)

3's & 7's is a pretty decent song.

I don't really think Miss Murder is that bad at all....I've always liked AFI, I'm not emo either...

There's way worse songs on the song list than Miss Murder, IMO.

That, and I hated how Monsters was the last encore in Co-Op. Seriously, all the songs are difficult in the final tier and then they have the balls to put something so easy as the last encore. What the hell were they thinking?

There are other songs that are horrible, but I can't think of them right now...

I'm not a huge fan of the song, but it's really fun to play. It's one of the better simple note charts. Barracuda is another one of my favorites. The only song I dislike playing is Story of my Life. It's a good chart, but it's too long for what it is.

Long and boring. I remember playing it for the first time. I was like, "this song sucks. they couldn't find a better song to put here?" I can tolerate playing it, but it's just so boring. Plus, I'm not too fond of listening to Social Distortion.

Another song I kinda dislike- Anarchy in the U.K.. The chart is alright, it has good rhythm (sort of), but the annoying guy singing it throws me off and it's just a horrible song, listening wise.

i gotta be honest, before GH3 i have never heard Story of My Life. And it's not my favorite song.
The reason the guy singing Anarchy in the UK sounds weird is because they brought the Sex Pistols back together in 2007 to record it, and I'm sure the singer doesn't sound the same as when he first recorded it. And it's an alright song. The song I feel that GH3 ruined the most is Cult of Personality. They said it was a master track, but half of the solos aren't in the original, and the entire long solo near the end sounds NOTHING like it does in the real track. Oh well, it's still a good song.
