Of course you do. He's completely mac bias and only tells one side of the story. The one side you want to hear....

Actually some guys at MaximumPC who are apparently the masters of computer modifaction made a really interesting discovery. If you honestly want a computer that performs at peak quality, the best choice is one of the new Apple computers with the intel processors, but modified to use a Windows Operating System. Yes, windows probably does require more matenance and such, but I'll agree with maximumPC over this guy.
So basically Windows OS + Apple Computer + Intel processor = Ultimate computer

I guess that makes sense.
Yeah, but Mac a while back gave into the Linux platform with the X line which means they are not anywhere original. Also SGI uses PCs with NT not OS X to do their high end 3D programming and I have to say the day that businesses are run by Mac is like when hell freezes over.
Oh and if you did not know it Mac has been bailed out at least 3 times by Microsoft and Microsoft holds a strong amount of stock in Apple which is the reason it still exists.
Face it if Microsoft wanted Apple dead it would take two shakes of finiger ouch.
Not even the Ipod could save them.
HA! My windows came free with my computer.
Macs are to restricing windows is just fine iv never had any problems with it but buy whatever you want And dont listen to people on TV or the radio like that Leo la porte the tech guy
He is paid to talk that way about macs

guess what-- that's exactly what Microsoft tried to do in the mid-90s with Windows 95.
Gil Amelio was CEO of Apple and things looked bleak.
Then he was ousted by the board of directors and replaced by the illustrious Steve Jobs, who reinvented the company and gained a fierce dedicated fanbase (including me) for their quality products and expert programming.
Microsoft could not get rid of Apple even if it wanted to. The article stated that their "longhorn" got scrapped after 4 years of work, and the PC manufacturers do low-end throwaway models of compters, while Apple deals exclusively with the high-end crowd. There are too many Apple users on the planet already.
Whats the advantages of having an apple? Seriously all this power and no crashing for what? to be able to use hardly any software for it and not be compatible with files transferred from other people. Its like a kid with a DS walking on a bus with kids with PSPs

Actually You can use any software on a mac due to the fact that it now runs BootCamp, which allows the accessing of both Windows XP and the latest Mac OS. Plus, you don't need other Macs to make a single unit function (as you suggest with your analogy). They are created to be multi-platform compatible, as I said earlier. this means that You can easily access, transfer, do whatever with any files on your Mac and have them PC compatible.
Plus the extra functionality of the Media software makes using a mac enjoyable and with a very short learning curve and impressive results.
And apparently Apple intends that media be shared over the internet, so as to be compatible with all OS's regardless of manufacturer, or else why would they have created iWeb?
You're all morons.
Yes the article is skewed.
No, it's not completely inaccurate.
The thing you ALL missed about that article's tirade was this:
He was getting a new PC each time, on both OS platforms.
Comparing the cost maintenance, without all the paid for virii protection and spyware, etc, on the PC, XP is still, more expensive to maintain.
Clip:
However, in this article, I’ll ignore the software Apple bundles with new Macs and focus only on the actual costs related to keeping the OS up to date, both for Macs and Windows PCs.
What's so fucking hard to understand, did none of you read the entire article, or just browse it? Sure it was biased, and the author was a douche to begin with, but come on, you can't ignore the painful truth.
It was one example, not how every single person treats their machine, it was also geared towards business, not home users. Grow the fuck up, and get a life.

New high-end Dells actually cost more than most Macs. argument over.

Although he's probably a hardcore Vista fan too.

So yeah, just because Dell or other big companies overprice stuff doesn't mean shit.
Actually it DOES mean shit, because Dell has been notoriously known for shoddily made computers for years. when Its prices fall higher than a mac's, without the options that a mac has, then you KNOW something is very, very wrong.
Macintosh is so great... except for the fact that you can't get specialty programs for it, it's expensive as shit, it's unmodifyable, and Apple Executives molests babies... ok that last part I made up, but the rest is true!

Oh shut up and get a PSP you freakin DS user....sorry i just loved that metaphore =P
I noticed that life on a pc and mac differ a whole lot. I have a mac in my house that still works great and its been around for 7 years. 7 years is a lot for a pc. My pc broke after 3 years.

So despite the fact you can go to one of the VARIOUS other manufacturers (the prebuilt PC I started with before upgrades was a Compaq) and get them FAR cheaper than Macs...even after you upgrade them....you're sticking to some bizarre claim that Dell is the defining point of all PCs and if Dell does it X way then that means all PCs are X way? 0_O
in a nutshell, yes
my HIghschool has all Dells
My middle school had all Dells
My elementary had all Dells for godsake
Even my friend in Wisconsin has all Dells at his school.
dell and HP have nearly a monopoly, iwould say, so I think it's fair for me to use them as a rallying point.
