Just because you don't like a bands style doesn't mean they suck. You may find them annoying, but a hell of a lot of people obviously don't. Granted, the guitarists are prehaps slightly overrated, but they certainly have talent. They do not just hit random notes and you know it.

DragonForce are respected as a brilliant Metal band by Metalheads (many of them musicians themselves) the world over. They can't be that bad or unskilled.

Now I'm very sorry you don't like power metal drumming or vocals, but if it's such a problem for you I suggest you simply don't listen to power metal.

Maybe you've only heard one of their slower songs or something, but the vast majority of their material is power metal, and as close to DragonForce in style as any other band I've heard.

Apparently DIFFERENT PEOPLE can have DIFFERENT TASTES.
Some people like good riffs, others like fast soloing. I'm partial to a bit of both, it's just a pity Dragonforce don't mix the two and write some decent lyrics for once.

I do agree that Dragonforce are over-rated. Many people don't. You haven't proven they have no talent whatsoever, as they are, in fact very talented. In my eyes, anyone who is commited enough to learn to play an instrument is talented. I've tried and it's hard.

ehhhh, the music is kind of catchy, but i have to agree, the guitar kind of sucks. not that it doesn't take talent to play like that, but it's way too damn fast. if they slowed down their playing a bit it may sound better. i like the emphasis on guitar and solos tho. it's something that is lacking very much so in today's music.

If Dragonforce's guitar work really is as shit as you claim, and you really can play like Herman Li, then I trust you will have no problem recording yourself playing a DragonForce style solo for all of us to hear!

Just post it on Putfile.com or something, if it really is as simple as playing random notes I'm sure you will be able to do it with ease!

I was thinking something like an Iron Maiden sound, which is epic in its own right. I wouldn't exactly call Dragonforce epic, but I spose I'm also not a power metal fan. Heavy metal is more my thing.

Well, I kinda see your point even though I'm a HUGE fan. I can understand why you and some others don't like them, but some of us have a liking for that kind of thing. I am also a guitarist, so I know where you come from, but I really like Herman's guitar playing, it may be just a fast flurry of fucking fast notes (now that was fun wasnt it) to some people, but some of us understand it, or try to understand it.
Sam Totman, the rythm guitarist I could see less people liking, because he doesn't stand out as much as lead, but I don't think you should bring him into this, because the music would be much worse without him, or if he were playing exactly like Herman.
As for your comments aout being out of key or in the wrong scale, who the hell cares, is it written that music can only be played one way and can't be changed.
Your comments on the singer, well I have the same argument as above for the key comment, but as for your comments on his singing not being too good... I like it, it's melodic, not just screaming or grunting like some of these bands like C. of a Bodom or whatever the hell else crappy metal bands are out there now.
Bass, well it isn't a big part of the music, I think mainly because the bassist is almost always only temorary, personally I don't think the music needs to be any more bassy.
Ok, now here's the part where I agree with you 100%, the drummer, I don't like the fast double pedal stuff all the time, it would be ok if he changed it up a bit, but he has the exact same sound every song, so there I agree.
To end this discussion, I'd like to say that I completely understand you opinion, but can you understand mine, without agreeing to it? Here's another question, what is better Dragonforce or Tupac or 50 Cent? Obviously we all have our own opinions on what good music is, my favorite bands are Van Halen, Steve Vai, Buckethead, and Dragonforce, but that doesn't mean my picks are better than yours, just bare with it, Dragonforce will probably only be a fad, and the true fans will continue to like them, but others will eventually forget, and people like you will have a new band to bitch about, and hey I might be with you next time, but just for the time being, drop the topic, you can't change most peoples opinions, only the weakminded ones, anyway, HOLY RUN-ON SENTENCE BATMAN!

Nah, they don't suck, they don't. But they are unexperienced, playing way too fast. I don't mean that playing fast is a negative thing, absolutely not, especially not since I'm a fan of Yngve Malmsten (or Yngwie Malmsteen). But the tones that they play in DragonForce are ment to be played in a slower tempo, to get it out correctly.

And to that they also need to write better lyrics...

You obviously have no idea about musical theory. The notes they pick are not totally random. If the rhythm guitarist is playing in E minor for instance, then the lead guitarist can improvise a solo using the scale of E minor. They are not random notes, however the soloist can hit these notes randomly, or any notes that are part of the scale of the chord progression being played.

So shut up and learn some music.
