Eh... why not.
I have the piano sheet music that I learned years ago along with the lyrics. Not saying i'm gunna sing... but i'll gladly do the piano.
The issue is my sound quality. Any advice?
But then again I may not be needed....

I can provide orchestral and choir for this if need be. I've done some good choir with orchestra pieces and people have really enjoyed them. I hope I can help!

ok!
*rubs hands together*
this is what I need:
guitarists: - on there are tons of you metal guitarists - metaljonus I've heard you're like one of the best ones out there - so.. I want ALL you guitarists to put your heads together and do something hopefully - metaljonus I want to be the main guitarist tho :P
drums: I leave this up to the best drummers
strings: I'm gonna leave this to whoever can do the best one
organ: (i tried it myself didnt like the results - realmguys I assign this to you - but do a better job than you did in your phantom song - those notes seemed to drag when they werent supposed to - the second half of your song was pure gold tho ^^)
VOCALS:
male: whoever does the best one really.
female: this will be the hardest - im willing to listen to any female who rises to the stage as it will be your voice that leads the song and either makes or breaks it..
choir: male and female - you heard the examples versions - something like that.
violins: well they were in the original they dont HAVE to be in the version but if anyone has stradivani or a "real' one like cello etc. feel free to try your hand!
ive decided my role will be the ambiance of the song - thunder etc. stuff to make it pop up and I'll take everyones recording and piece it together.
so ya um.. everyone work off the MODERMIZED version - for tempo and positioning of vocals that it - cuz i really loved that version i just harted the ending - feel free to add any embellishments where appropriate.. I cant cut up your samples too much so try to keep them as complete as possible :P
good luck! :P

Can we have a BPM to work with, I would like to make your piecing together job much easier. Are we doing the exact phrase-work of the modern version? Any variation whatsoever?

What file do u want me to send to u......whats ur e-mail? Do u have Skype?

same bpm as the modern variation - and no not exactly the same - its just a loose guideline to go by. You guys can have solos or whatever you want just dont make it like IMPOSSIBLE for me to piece together - what I suggest is SOMEONE start - and you work off that. I'm suggesting everyone work off realmguys as the organ is the entire backing of the song. Then the vocals need to be fit in. Then the guitar- then .. everythnig else :P
also realmguys here is yet ANOTHER link to ANOTHER phantom of the opera song
here
I provide it because it has an ORGAN solo!
I want you to do it - feel free to make any kewl variations you feel fit :P
that goes to everyone - you dont have to do everything they do in these versions - just make it sound cool.
so realmguys - we all depend on you as to how the song evolves :P - no pressure!
after all according to our contest you're just as good as "I" am!
congrats you're a god!
hahaha..

the "modern" version of the song is 132 bpm. i would recommend we all use that so we dont end up with differently clocked recordings. but ya i guess realmguys will start us off it seems. well anyhow i would love to do strings for this project if thats alright.

Antonio Banderas?!!!!!??? That was different. That organ solo was the bomb, I wish I could play that well, I can lay down a tune like that but it would be step recorded I can't solo pipes like that. I wish we had a drum track layed down to start with, this might be tricky to start off with pipes, I might send a seperate track of some basic drums and bass to lay this down, Just for reference purposes. then people could add a track at the same BPM quite easily, they could even play over the track while recording a new track to add. That's possible for me, everyone elses hardware allow that? This is a big undertaking and I won't even be able to start for another 3 days due to work. Sorry for that, looking forward to the outcome however. This will be fun!

ya antonio banderas was very.. odd.. indeed.. that organ solo was awesome - you could always layer it man.. ya step recording indeed. I just didnt want someone to do drums first because with the pipes you have more control as to how the song evolves. So ya a lot is riding on you tyler.
and ya I was thinknig of ppl adding theirs over yours - but it might cause trouble if we have a ton of ppl adding their own version - we'll have to go one by one. So once you are done we shall decide who goes next. I'm trying to recruit Ed to help us - not sure what his name on here is but hes a STELLAR musician - one of the best indeed - and his mastering is better than mine - he also might have links to female vocals. So I dont want any of you laying down anything in stone - if ppl add their part to the song itll just be for reference.. and provide your work seperate as well. Perhaps we can lay down as we go along. And heck if this works we can make this something that we can do more often! ^^
I start school again on the 7th tho so we all might be constrained by certain real life events - so we all await you tyler :P
