Well you know what when you illegaly download a song do you get rich from doing it! I think not eric bauman bought himself a (mansion or a really big house) recently and how do you think becuase he sold ads of the stolen content.

More to the point if he wasn't so rich we wouldn't care I mean look at vidkings they steal tankman pico and original content off of ebaums and do they get money no therefore we don't care.

Peopel who illegaly download stuff dont resell copies for a profit, which is basically what Bauman is doing by running a profit site with stolen flash. This makes it far worse.

I think I've been sitting here for about 40 minutes trying to think of my opinion of the matter. (Although, 10 minutes don't count since my mind wandered off.) Well, here it goes:

I guess it depends on how strong your morals of stealing are. I wouldn't like it if someone came into my house and started stealing my stuff, but if that person (bare with me) made my stuff well known, and I started getting more money than what I paid for my stuff, that would be fine. However, if that doesn't happen, and the criminal is the only one who benefits, I'd hate it.

It's easy to d/l free music, and I admit I do it. I sample a song or two from an album, and overtime, I might just pick that album up. I love music and I wish that I didn't have to do this, but what option do I have? I don't have a lot of money, and like I said, it's easy to take advantage of a P2P system.

Ugh, this is complicated. One thing's for sure, I do not think I'm better than him. I've been debating my piracy over his from time to time for several months now.

I've thought about scrapping this post, but hopefully you'll respond and we'll take it from there.

I think we can all agree that illegally downloading mp3s is bad. But this is like saying someone who litters can't get mad at a murderer for killing their two year old son because they also broke the law.
It's not like people who download music take the artists' names off it and the slap their own name on it. There are different levels of stealing. Downloading mp3s is like stealing a Snickers, what Bauman does is like robbing a bank. Understand?

You're still no different from Bauman. Not profiting from what you stole doesn't make it any less of stealing. Both people use the same argument: "I'm not hurting anybody!"

Not really, it's legal to download, but uploading is illegal, so he couldn't get it onto his site legally.

We don't make sites where we steal stuff and put it on there (or most of us don't). I think that putting illegal downloads for movies and music on your site is wrong (except for southpark since apparently the producers don't mind). Also even though we download the music/movie/file we still know who it was made by. Eric usually removes the link to your website from your flash

When I download a song, I don't change it to where it looks like I made it. I also don't sell it. I'm downloading it because I favor the artist, not use them as my work horse from which I profit.

Also he has went unpunished, but there has been servel punished over downloading music and movies (the differents is the corp.s have money for lawyers). I'm not againts sharing work, I'm against not getting credit for it. Its not really even about the money, its about him getting money for doing nothing.

Ah, but you see, flash is virtually free. It's available for public viewing. However, songs are wanted to make money. Flash generally isn't. To steal a piece of flash is not such a big offence as to steal, say, a movie. I, for one, don't like Bauman, but don't love him either.

Stealing is still stealing no matter how much you label it.

downloading music is legal in canada, and how cares; you can download a hole album on the internet for like $1.20.

using copyright music in a flash movie or game is a different story, know about copy right before using other peoples hard work, It's perfectly fine to use copyrighted music in most flash, but you have no right to use it as your own, which means you can't have your movie shown on TV, or win money in a contest or make anykind of profite. a game or movie is only 50% graphics and 50% audio.
