3.93 / 5.00 4,634 ViewsI've just been reading this month issue of Wired, and I thought to myself how funny it is that consumers have taken complete control over the big companies. Seriously, it's as if tey're bending to our will. Out of any big-name company out there, think of any big company exec out there that's not put half it's revenue in entertainment. They would scoff if we complained about their products. But think of Hollywood, and companies such as Sony, Nintendo, Microsoft. The consumers have them in the palm of their hand. Sony is about to go broke because of it's delaying the PS3, and now their last hope as a company relies on whether we get mad about and not buy it. We've forced nintendo out of it's territory. They're out of the graphics race by far, and are now forced to think on their feet. (fortunately for them I hear their wand-controller thing is awesome) and xbox live/360 has to come up with new features every month to keep us interested. As the article says about videogame consoles nowadays "software on consoles have become more/just as important as the videogames played on them."
It actually makes me kind of sad to see these companies beg for forgiveness when they come out with a product that I don't want to pay $600 to buy.

Umm, you don't happen to have any sources for these allegations, do you? It all sounds pretty opinionated to me.
Consumers effecting the market?
NO WAI!
And Sony isn't going broke, not by a long shot.

I'm more speaking about the fact, that we see almost as many technology upgrades per month as films that come out of hollywood.
Sony: 6 billion dollar cash reserves. Expected to lose 2 billion by next march before making any gains on the ps3
