80% of my early work all the way up to murray the monkey was done at 12fps... i dont think its a terrible frame rate for beginners.. it lets you concentrate on making key movements strong individually, rather than just doing a shitty frame here and there because you know that people wont notice it @ 30fps+

I'll have to convert then.
Like I'd stop anyone from choosing any framerate they wanted. I just state the nice, fairly solid, facts. The 16,000 Frame cap is one of those things you can't avoid, no matter how good you are.

Can't you get around it using MCs?

And what actually happens if you try to export something with over 16000 frames?

12 fps is good for practice, like luis said, to get the key frames and key movements right. I think 18 is good for a movie, us of whatever was done in 18. its a personal preference though, try stuff out

Yep. Just don't go over 16000 of those either...

Flash Player works perfectly fine - but stops dead in it's tracks when it hits #16000.
We ran into trouble with it for the original TSAH, which was why my part got cut (file size is never an issue for me... I fit seven minutes into a meg and a half... ^_^).

work at 30, or 24.

Do not work at 12.

You should always work at the framerate you intend on working at for the rest of your flashing.

If you get used to 12 you'll realise it sucks and up to 20. then youll get to 20 and later realise it sucks and go for 24, then realise that that isn't the perfect framerate either and go with 30.

It's verry annoying to work with different frames per second all the time. So just animate with your inteded speed (Above 20).

That's bull :S You should have just done all of your parts in MCs.

onClipEvent(load){
_root.stop();
}
onClipEvent(enterFrame){
if(_currentframe = _totalframes){
_root.nextFrame();
};
}

Simps :)

If you are tweening, use 15+ FPS

If you are starting with FBF, I suggest 12 FPS. It's not the best, but its still very watchable.

I used to do 18 because it's about inbetweem. If you still feel like your learning just keep it low. When you feel about ready totep it up, try 24 ish.
