I just figured everyone in the world knew to not let anyone fuck with your wallet. Ever. I think you are supposed to be taught that when you are born.

As for the guy taking my pants off, well that really ruins the pshycology angle. No one is going to be like "I just wanted to show you how easy it is to take off someone's pants! Its for school!"

Only at gunpoint would i surrender my money. As soon as he snatched it out of my hand, that very hand would be on his throat, because i'm not a very social person, so i wouldnt be like "excuse me, sir."

Wow! You seriously got screwed! But how did he snatch the cash from your wallet without you noticing instantly? Like, was he hiding your wallet beind his back or something? Come on! Tell me! I know a few kids I could... never mind...
Oh well, I sympathize, because I knew a lot of frickin rotten people in the presence of whom some stuff "disapeared". Bah, it's only 200$ All you could have bought with it is a nice long hot night with two asian prostitutes, no biggy!

Hey, Newgrunling isn't here! I'll have to fill-in for him then.
" Obviously, no one can be as stupid as you pretend you where and it is my guess that you either made this whole thing up or that you where in league with the so-called thief"

sorry, but I had to after his DanMalo-stalking incident reply!

I probably would of ended up breaking his arms and at least 1 knee somehow then I'd get in trouble 'cause he'd say he was helping old ladies across the street then a crazy, potsmoking mexican jumped out of a t-bird and broke his limbs with a pipe.

Once I was in town with a friend and a guy came up to me and was like 'Hey fellas, whatsup boys,' then he just put his hand into my jacket pocket and took my wallet.. I just looked at the guy like WTF? and he went, NO SHIT he said "If you tell the cops, they'll know it's me, Cos I'm tha collecter!!" He was fucking huge and my friend and me were like 13 so we just let him, it only had about four dollars in it.. not $200!!!

To share in the robbery-ness, I have my own little story, but in this one I don't come off like a complete fool. When I was in highschool, during two seperate years I had two seperate wallets stolen, or lost, I don't know. I would just realize it was gone and be assed-out. The thing is, in each case my cards and IDs would turn up like two weeks later. The fucking library card in my current wallet has been in two other lost/stolen wallets. The damn thing just won't die.

I think that's at least somewhat interesting...meh, it probably isn't.

Would you like me to give back the whole wallet next time? or just the ID card?... I mean... yeah..

That really sucks that it happened to you...but damn he's one smart theif!! The worst part is that i've read about psychology experiments like that...maybe he actually WAS a student doing an experiment and decided to make a profit from it since it was so easy.

the second the guy even approached me i would've told him to piss off, and watch him like a hawk until he left me alone
(like i always do.... i hate strangers...)

i mean... c'mon ..... how dumb do you have to be to trust a complete stranger, with your wallet no less!
i wouldn't even trust most of my friends with mine...

I'd say its more likely that he was just a clever person who found a way to steal the contents of someone's wallet, and get away without them screaming "THEIF!" right after it happened. This way he walked away with $200 and didn't have to run or otherwise look too conspicuous.

Either way though, this is my 500th post!

If your story is true, Im sorry. But I can tell you it would make a FUNNY flash! I mean the way you wrote it was funny as hell, and to see it animated on NG would rule! I know some animators will see this and I hope they take my advice on turning this into a toon.

(snip)

Well, you might guess what happened next... I checked my wallet and my $200 was gone! leaving only the change that he put back as all of it! I went back to look for him and he obviously wasnt there. In a desperate attempt I went to the address he gave me and yeah well, there was noone living there with his name...

HOW STUPID AM I!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!??????????????

What an interesting story! I must say, though, after having read it, the rest of the thread, and thinking about how bad it must have felt to get scammed once you realised for sure that you had been, at least you're only out 200 bucks.

I, on the other hand, ran over a chunk of rock-filled concrete someone was kind enough to leave in the street on a corner at night, and though the insurance paid most of it, I've got a $500 deductible, so I'm out $500.

Which brings up an age-old question. Is it better to lose half as much money if you also lose your sense of security, and perhaps a little dignity as well? Or would you rather lose the full amount of money and keep everything else? Ahhhh yes...

If a cop finds any of that on you, other than something like pepper spray or a taser, you can get in some serious crap. This is why everybody should practice submissions on their little siblings. I went from my little brother sitting on me while I was laying on the couch to him kissing the floor! It's fun!

Actually he never hid my wallet, I guess he was a professional, I didnt see him TAKE the money.. he pretended he put it back, but instead he only put back the change..

BY THE WAY TO Y'ALL:

I did share my story so y'all can have a few laughs at me, but ALSO so it doesn't happen to you. Trust me that guy was a fucking smart asshole and I have been exposed to being mugged before but had my guard up.

The reason he did manage to rob me was by gaining my trust first hand (by putting back ALL of the money and excusing himself to me) and actually giving me one of his posessions and introducing himself to me.

As stupid as it SOUNDS, and you poking fun at me (i invited it, i dont mind, i could've not posted this at all but I did knowing people would call me stupid.) but it STILL may happen to you in a real life situation, its different to a thrid party story, trust me.

Anyway thats all I have to say for now, thanks for those who sympathized with me, it was one of the shittiest experiences in my life, and those who laughed at me and called me a dumbass thats fine too :) I probably would've, but watch your back! the karma ghost might trick you! ;P

ps> this has no fucking thing to do with me being an anticlock saying stupid shit like "hahaha because you are an anticlock" well, is just...stupid.

That's a trick magicians use commonly called "misdirection". The person keeps you focussed on something else while they are robbing you. Two examples that happen frequently:

1) Someone on the street asks you for the time. You look at your watch and they deck you. Solution: Hold the watch in front of you so they can see the time themselves if they have to.

2) Someone bumps into you at a crowded place. You are focussed on the person that bumps into you; his accomplice picks your pocket.

These are cons. They are used to trick unsuspecting people like us. They fake a punch with one hand while the other has lined up on you to deal you a serious blow.
