I have recently stumbled upon this game. You might wonder why at the moment, but I was utterly disgusted and disappointed when I saw this game.

Why? Because I've also got a Super Smash Bros. Flash remake in development! In fact, here is what I've been working on. I know it took me some time between the original idea day, and what I've got now, but I had forgotten about the project until 4 days ago.

Anyways, I would like to say that on Lock Day 2007, when this game comes out, please don't call me unoriginal and say "already done". Because:
1) I've had the idea for this long before that "Super Smash Flash" game came out
2) Mine will most likely not have any copyrighted material and will all be original Lock artwork
3) Mine will most likely be much better both in control and in dynamism

Also, I noticed that this games screams "STOLEN MUSIC AND GRAPHICS". Is it really supposed to be allowed in the ArmorGames contest? Doesn't the contest page say:
"The games must be original and CANNOT have anything to do with copyrighted materials. Games cannot have anything to do with (Nintendo, Sony, Lord of the Rings, King Author, etc) Games must be new, unique and original. Music must also not be Non-copyrighted. Your games must NOT contain music from any copyrighted soundtrack, muscian or artist."

PS: I do not plan on submitting MY future game to the ArmorGames contest.

How can you accuse any of us ever calling you unoriginal for taking a preexisting game idea and making a Flash version of it?

Yeah, but there are tons of people who will see your flash and wont have seen this thread...

True,if it was entered into the contest, then it would be breaking the rules, almost everyone infact, however, It might have just been sponsored - it may have not been entered.

Sir Davey, thats a nice engine you got there, why don't you just get some original artwork with original characters done for it, maybe popular newgrounds ones, then it won't be considered idea stealing.

You should probably worry more about this when you submit it. By then most people will probably have forgotten about the thing you stole the idea from anyway (loljk <3).

Nice move with the thread, though. If you keep the URL saved somewhere you can always refer people who accuse you of stealing back to it.

Add a little disclaimer in the beginning of your flash explaining that this project has been in the works for such and such date, and is not a rip off of super smash flash.

And let me also agree with you, on how BAD, super smash flash was. I mean, I gave it a 7/10, being generous. It is completely undeserving. The controls are terrible, loads of bugs, un smooth, only two controls for jumping and attacking, and it just plain sucks ..::Truth::..

I was wondering the same thing about the armor games contest. So far "Zombie Survival: SM" has apparently won money, but it is made almost entirely from pieces of Metal Slug games. Does Armor Games not know this? or are they being forgiving about that particular rule?

And about the poster's game: Amazing work so far! VERY fluid, with good controls. I'm sure with original art you will not have any problems at all. I look forward to seeing this finished.

It seems like a lot of people are working on games that borrow from the Smash Bros formula right now. None of them are copying each other when the idea originated from Smash Bros. Smash Bros is the only one that can be credited as such.
