It's always better to contribute nothing than to contribute shit. I liked some of the SS submissions, granted, it's kinda hard not to like a few of 250 (not counting extra's) submissions. But most of it was effortless crap.
You already had the fanbase. Now you just needed to expand on it, look Food apparently wanted to do. Why not? What the hell is the point in making crap on purpose? That's just bullshit. You want to prove the B/P voting system isn't fair. Ok. How do you do it? Well certainly NOT by taking ADVANTAGE of the fault within it.
And besides, the unfairity of the B/P system is the biassedness of the voters, not some kind of flaw in the code. So proving it is nice and all, but what's the point? What can you really do about idiots voting stupidly just because their favorite authors appear to be in it? What's the point in that?
There is, however, a point in helping out others with their flash movies. If that was you purpose, then that's a good one. But abusing the system to show it's abusable while there isn't anything that can be done about it's abusibility is just pointless and stupid, timewasting, unfair and most of all a waste of bandwidth.

Seriously, people who contribute nothing do a better job than those contributing crap, because atleast they aren't wasting their own time on it.

...It sucks dick like hell to see a good group go. We've already had to witness the death of Piconjo and now this. You guys did some great stuff, Zekey whenever I saw your name on a flash I knew it would be great as well as Revrents first class work. It's true that lately the SS has been slacking. It's getting boring as hell to watch fat badger fly towards the screen whilst some stupid anime theme plays only to reveal the film consists of 5 static images by different animators, it's great when you watch a piconjo jam or a coolboyman collection and know that every button will hold a hillarious flash but you guys lost it. The Zerostarz post on the 3rd page (I think) seemed to me like the truth, I don't know much about the situation but internal conflict is a baaad thing, thats why the Piconjo Posse is still up and running even though we haven't made movies in ages, because we all get along. Even if the SS splits I hope you all keep making flash.

i joined in july 04 and i didnt know what flash was then i practiced and was able to make 2 things im at least happy about

about the rest of my movies are shit and i know but im glad i got to learn and give it a try, and now im done with it mostly

Could a mod lock this?

These last 2 pages have been exceedingly stupid and I can only assume a lock would trap some of the severe retardation within.

I have a hard time understanding you. I liked your Flashes back before you joined the SS. Then I still liked your actual Flashes, I just really think the stupidity made by the SS wasn't worth a dime. You wasted time you could have poured into making quality flash (which we all know you can do).

Someone brought up a really good point.

What have you (you being most of the people in the thread that are not artists) contributed to newgrounds? SS was the first for a lack of a better word "break" for many artists. Now, I am not a big fan of some of their flashes, but they were an asset to newgrounds and very underappreciated.

I think a better solution than simply killing off SS would have been a split off of some sort.

I suggest that some of the old members restart SS. And when I say old members I mean hardcore dedicated ones, the founders. Step out of the ashes. If there is to be another SS, it has to have its roots.

To the members of SS that wanted higher quality flashes:
I suggest that you take the rest of the SS that was like minded and form a seperated group. After all, you are the people that deviated from what the SS clearly was.

Either way, I am sure either group could do well if it only tried to.

To tell the truth, I'm glad that SS is gone. True, they have given unknown artists chances to become more popular, and some of their movies were pretty good, but they've done some pretty bad things as well. All their mass-voting (excuse me, I mean getting together to vote on movies regardless of the other peoples opinions) on crap flashes is unforgivable. Plus, I still remember when there was a rumor going around that SS was planning to attach a virus to a high-scoring movie on NG. I know that was untrue, but it caused quite a scare to everyone, and made me distrust SS just because of those few people. And it seems that the people mourning the loss of SS consist primarily of SS members themselves, still voting high on crap SS movies. So now that they're gone, there won't be anymore of this.

So, who's going to attack me for my opinion? I know someone will.

i think you guys quit last year at the end of the summer and came back for the summer. I hope next year you guys return.

Argh haters just shut up. The SS defended the average artist and you all should be thankful. They rock.

Hell, they made me realise how untalented I was making sprite movies :D
