That's no excuse. You had no reason to bring your guitar along. You should have just bought the strings, and if he told you, "I cannot sell you strings" (which he didn't), you leave the store and buy strings elsewhere.

alright, dawei just pmed me about this and i just want to say i am his alibi, what he is saying is ligit, so top giving him a hard time already. the guy was freaky, but he didn't look like a gang leader, he looked like a guy with a bunch of bodies in his basement and faces in his fridge, but he was also a body builder joc type, muscular 6 foot tall phsyco.

Ernie Ball Regular slinky strings are 5.25, it doesn't exactly take a genius to put them on and stretch them.

Knowing how to change guitar strings is one of the rules of owning a guitar. And if some guy says they have to change the strings, walk out of the shop.

And I have a guitar with floyd rose in it, making it twice as hard to re-string it (with the head-locks and having to cut the ball-end of the strings because it won't fit in the floyds...)

I don't like Floyd-Rose tremolo's. They're too high maintenence for me. Plus they make tuning harder. They give a badass effect, but in the long run, (IMO)they aren't worth it.

I think those kind actually look pretty cool, but owning them basically mean pulling out your hair cause it's so hard to tune, restring, and it once cut my finger trying to restring it (cause i useds to have one for about 2 months) and i didn't notice till lucnh time when we had cheeseburgers, i thought my blood was ketchup, but it sure didn't taste like ketchup.

Ive been without it for a month, and now I need to develop calluses on my fingertips again.

Not me. I've been playing for two and a half years, and have a Gibson SG and an Ibanez JS1200. The SG is cake to restring, but the JS has a fucking edge-pro tremolo. The thing is a fucking PAIN IN THE ASS, and I can still string it. It just takes aobut an hour to get everything finely tuned.
