oh lets see i beat symphonia 5-6 times not alot compared to you people, never beat mithos on normal
and i ran through a small part of the game on hard on my first run, yeah i got my ass kicked on hard alot, and next time i run through the game i might do mania mode but that wont be for a while i guess.

i use everyone but colette. (i suck with colette)
and my standard party is the basic lloyd, kratos or zelos, raine, and genis.
and as soon as i get my hands on that game again and clear it im gonna try to use an all attacker squad.

I don't think I could ever beat the game without a healer.

I tend to use Lloyd(me), Regal, Sheena, and Presea if I'm going all attack. The Ex-Skills on Regal and Presea are great, and Regal can heal if it's an emergency. Sheena has her summons, and her Ex-Skills are pretty good as well. As for Lloyd, I'm just a beast with him. He's got some good Ex-Skills, but I mainly use his Phys. Immune ability. That way I can just attack without worrying about stun, poison, petrification(I think that's phys.?), etc.

If I'm going for a massive combo, like against a boss, I'll use Lloyd, Genis, Raine, and Kratos/Zelos.
Kratos/Zelos get Slasher, and the Genis/Raine U. Attack combo is 30 hits. Lloyd and Collette are supposed to have one that hits more, I think it's Stardust something or other, but it only hits based on the size of the enemy, so if they aren't that big, chances are it won't be as good as Genis and Raine's combo.

My typical party for balance is Lloyd, Kratos/Zelos, Raine, and Sheena. Raine can heal and use light spells, Zelos/Kratos can back-up heal and use up to mid-level magics if it's needed, and Sheena has her Seals, which can add elemental attack, and her combo attacks are pretty good.
That, and I just like having Sheena in my party :p

Once Colette has Almost all her skills, she's not that bad, but she's only useful until she runs out of TP. Her normal attack blows, and she is kinda slow for a girl who hovers :s
I only really use her if I NEED to steal an item off an enemy. Plus, her Ex-Skill that gives the group more EXP isn't bad either, but you have to ask: is it really worth putting her in your party in place of someone else? I mean, if you're doing most all the work yourself, then yeah, I can see putting her in; but if you rely on the AI to protect your flank whilst you beserk, then no, it's not worth it.

playing presea is so very fun and destructive i love her lvl 3 techs they are very effective.

All of you seemt to have Raine in their party. I can understand that, she is a healer and all but I´m fine without her. The only one in my Party with the ability to heal would be either Kratos (which I prefer) or Zelos. It´s pretty much like this:

I use Lloyd and beat the crap out of the enemys with physical attacks (mainly Sonic Sword Rain, Hunting Beast, Rising Falcon and Psi Tempest). I also have Sheena, Genis and Kratos/Zelos in my party. Kratos/Zelos is actually doing nothing else than casting First aid the whole time while Sheena fights in the front and Genis provides me with backup.

Unison-Attack ( I do it in this order every time ):
Genis: Indignation
Kratos/Zelos: Victory Light Spear/Light Spear Cannon
Sheena: Demon Seal
Lloyd: Rising Falcon

That´s pretty much it.

genis is someone you should run around with, but your better off with raine, she's easier to nail.

In case any of you are wondering, I never use anyone besides the main character. Sure, I'd love to have them in my party, but I just start playing with the Main Character, and get used to it and not want to stray.

I enjoy using the main character, but sometimes the better things lie in the others, which is why I eventually play all the Characters, if the game interests me enough...

Meh. I'm sure everyone else could do fine without her as well. She's almost a must for boss fights, though, unless you grind the piss outta monsters to become too powerful for the bosses to handle.

It´s pretty much like this:

I find that Kratos/Zelos are better suited for the frontlines. Their heal is just kind of a backup for if things get hairy and there's no Raine.

Unison-Attack ( I do it in this order every time ):

Too lazy to look it up, but do you get any combos with this U.Attack?

my unison attack order is:

lloyd-sword rain
genis-cyclone
rain-ray
kratos/zelos-light spear or lightning blade.

i can get 60+ hits in a combo with this so by the end of the game on combo i was in my mid to late 80s, too bad i could've done better if i had someone else, i could've went to 90s maybe,
infact i had to fight mithos on mania because of it, im gonna have to do combo again so i can prep up for mania.

for arena i think i did lloyd, zelos, presea, regal, sheena, rain, genis, kratos.
couldn't beat it with colette shame on me...or is it?
