All you need to do is equip that money-doubling statue and fight the dragon in the earth temple.

In that picture, Lloyd is using one of his swords to block a slash from the back.
Since one of his swords is away it shows that the fight was either over and the new protagonist was being a sore loser or Lloyd is toying with him.

... Okay, Cloud was awesome, but other than that, they sucked. Throw blitzball gear on the new ToS hero, he could be Tidus! Tidus wasn't a total fail, but he wasn't really badass, either. Once I got Auron, Tidus kinda dissappeared >.<

I just googled around and I found out that you really just need 2 million but I thought you need much more.
I equipped that statue and fought against that Dragon countless times and everytime I had like 4 million I went to Luin and gave it to them.
Now I found out that you need to give them certain amounts of money and that for at least 7 times or something.
That sucks. I wasted a few hours of my life.

You don't need 2 million, I rebuilt the city with just 400k.
I just went in and out of the city while giving them 10,000 every visit, I came out with very little cash and I think I had to go back and refill on money just once.
