Welcome to The League of the Militant Godless.

We are different from the Politics Club in that, while we both value logical discourse unhindered by inane and faulty logic, we pay special attention to discussions where religion and mysticism often clouds the issue.

This is not a hate group. We are not based in outright attacking people for religious beliefs, but rather challenging those who use religion as a form of argument on political topics. You need not be an atheist to join. The only requirements are a logical mind and the ability to separate beliefs from fact while debating.

Being a member is simple. Basically, all you need to do is argue logically in the face of mysticism. For example, if someone was arguing that cloning is wrong because it is not what “god” intended then you basically would challenge their views and see if they have a rational reason to disagree with the subject. You can have any stance you want on the subject but the important point is that “god is not an excuse”. So even if you agree that cloning is wrong try to get others to stop using the god crutch and come up with some real reasons. You might want to put something in your signature as well, though it is not required.

By the way, we will have a site soon with a members only section as well as a public section as well as our own forum. ( thanks again Reaper-n )

I would like to join, I am agnostic and I do believe that "Cause God said so" isnt an acceptable answer for anything. I think it might be kind of cool to do a debate thing on the BBS, and if you ever need a guy for evolution arguing, thats me.

Actually, I was thinking that this thread would be more of a base of operation. (That is, a base on NG. Members will have a private thread once the site gets up) Here things such as membership and other issues will be dealt with.

I was also thinking that if we came across a particularly juicy thread in the political forum we can post a link here to give everyone a heads up. I think it’ll work better this way because if we turn this thread into a debate thread it’ll get really confusing by the fourth topic.

Actually, string-theory dictates that the big bang was actually the death of another (10 dimensional) universe.
