My biggest concern is that the metal detectors at airports will be triggered by my buns of steel.

I prefer my right to live to my right to privacy. This is just a necessary precaution. It doesn't get in the way. And we don't have that much privacy anyway. As long as the American government and co. (sadly, the UK government too) keep meddling in the East we will be attacked. Yes, the chances of an attack on the plane you are on is small. But I would rather not have any attacks succeed that have some poor people die helplessly in an aeroplane because the bombs got through the light security.

Oh, and your point about blowing themselves up in the queue is stupid. A small bomb in the right place can take down a huge plane, probably killing everyone on board. This saves resources compared to having to have a huge bomb to take down an airport.

And a bombing would be pretty scary no matter where it took place.

There are many alternatives to air travel including but not limited to boats, trains and automobiles. So if you are to shy to dangle your goodies in front of one stranger behind a curtain then don't fly.

For those who bring up the pervert question, what if they had two machines at each airport, one for men and one for women, each operated by a member of each respective sex. If that still isn't good enough for you we could just call it the express lane and make all of the whiners get in a long line for less pervasive but more time intensive searches. Of course I know how we feel about compromises especially on this board so I expect my logical solution to fall on deaf ears.

I wonder if anybody has even bothered to read this far before hitting the reply button and throwing a little e-temper tantrum. Usually I find when I make posts like this though they are usually just ignored as if the readers say "what's this rationality bullshit, I'm right and that means all others are completely wrong not a little right and a little wrong that just doesn't make sense. Well you can always just learn to create a plasma field and just ionize the particles so you cannot be detected by a metal detector.

We do have that technology being developed at ODU.

It allows screeneers to see through clothes but its not the image you are imagining it is or want to imagine. Its not like seeing them naked. I basically looks like an x-ray except with different colours and shit. Its not like youa re seeing them how they would look with no clothes on.

I would prefer that everyone just stripped naked for the flight :P

Ok, let me explain. I didn't mean one gigantic fucking bomb to blow the whole airport. I meant the same bomb that they were about to bring on the plane dtonated while in the line for the security check. They would kill the same number of people and would never even risk being found out. Plus they would destroy the very expensive see through your cloths machine. What stops that? This little machine that allows a real winner and pillar of the comunity look at tits all day long wouldn't do a damn thing to stop that. You can't make it safe. No mater how hard you try. The only thing you can do is trick everyone into feeling safe so that you can sell the expensive safty equipment. Meanwhile pedophiles have a new dream job. Working at the airport, checking to ensure that eight year old kids don't have any bombs in thier pockets. None of the precausions make you any safer, at all. Not even a little bit. And yet, at hospitals no-one cares about X-ray machines...
Are doctors and nurses paedophiles? No. X-ray machines show bones, and objects on the body in pockets. This machine would actually mean that you wouldn't get felt up by some security guard. Oh yes, so you don't want to check the little kids? Sooner or later some guy will realise that kids would get away with fewer security checks...see what would happen?
