Have you ever wondered about it? Why do we need them?
Maybe when Newgrounds grows, we could have voting wars, blam wars, save wars, etc., and the winning aura could get experience points as a reward. That would be fun.

Well the aura is like the background for the level icon. They used to be determined based on your voting habits, so the auras used have more of a purpose than just decoration now.

It used to depend om how you vote on movies but ppl kept voteing low to get dark auras so movies that were good would get low rateings so tom just changed it and you get to pick so now its just something to make your level icon look nicer
