Maybe start from Resident Evil 0, then to 1 and go up the series to 4. But you might want to get RE4 before 2 and 3 since I got RE4 when the only RE I ever played was RE1.

Guess if I had to go in order for must buy Re games in the order they should be purchased would be the following: Re4- it'll get you hooked to play more; Re remake- gives you background to the Resident Evil world and you adjust to it better than the one for the PS; RE 0- being able to swap between players ( I always preferd Billy) is a fun concept and the controls weren't that bad either, also a follow up to Re 1; Re2- revolutioned survival horror with its ideal inventory system, changes that occur around playing again, and a bundle of unlockables that made the replay value at an upmost high; RE3- You'll have so much experience with the previous RE games thsi will seem just as same as the rest but noto. Enemies are quick and are equipped with moves for 1 hit kills, the new dodging system was innovative and useful especially when fighting nemesis, you may find yourself a little strained at first but afterwards the aftertouch is fine; Outbreak- if your into online go for it, otherwise rent it and playthrough different charcters while collecting items upon hundreds of thousands of items just for one charcter; Dead aim- a shot at first person mode that missed the bullsye, a rental if your not to enthusiastic about that idea; Resident Evil Survivor- live the horror...literally

My preferances if your new to the RE world.

a jip rip indeed. My first time threw was short lived as Ada's skills in both combat and purchasing sucks. So much for "adding" gameplay. can that be considered...yeah I guess....easy enough I should say, frsutrating enough is more likely expected.

Pfft, that thing is a joke compared to the Chicago Typewriter.

I was wondering, besides the new weapons and additional levels you get to play as Ada, are there any more plus/minuses with the PS2 VS the GC version of RE4?

I must say, Christ, trying to get the hand cannon is feckin' nutters.

omg...
residentevilfan.com has stated that capcom is making a PC version of resident evil 4.
if it's a good thing or not, i don't know, but CAPCOM themselves will not do the port to PC, another company will do it...

on the other hand...looking forward to RE:DS...hmmmm...rubbing jill's chest and butt...

Well there is Ada's "Mission Ada" which is a bit hard, then there is the laser weapon which im close to getting.

One of the main differences also is that on PS2 when you are wearing special costumes and go into a cutscene your costume suddenly changes to default one, on GCyou get to see the special costumes in the cutscenes aswell (or so I've been told).

In many ways I can see this as a good thing such as expanding on the game. I love it but it was just WAY too short and too easy for me. Even hard mode proves not that hard.

on the other hand...looking forward to RE:DS...hmmmm...rubbing jill's chest and butt...

What, what? You can do that? :S

At 1/25/06 04:57 PM, vlad1950 wrote: Well there is Ada's "Mission Ada" which is a bit hard, then there is the laser weapon which im close to getting.

Yeah, once you beat the game you can play that on the GC as well. Beat that and you get the Chicago typewriter. 10.0 fire power with a 0.45 firing rate as well as infinite ammo. If you are a few pestas short of this weapon sell off your handgun and TMP because this gun will replace both of them. If you get the hand cannon you can replace the shotgun and the magnum with this one leaving you with those two guns[C.Type & H.Cannon]and a rifle.

One of the main differences also is that on PS2 when you are wearing special costumes and go into a cutscene your costume suddenly changes to default one, on GCyou get to see the special costumes in the cutscenes aswell (or so I've been told).

Oh yeah, you get to see them in their special costumes in the cut scenes. I've also heard there are more special outfits in the PS2 version as well.

Heck, I was so absorbed that I bought a RE4 PS2 skin and the guide to the GC version. I was going to get the chainsaw controler but they[EB Games] only had the PS2 version one. :'(

PS: Stick with the Broken Butterfly magnum, it's special upgrade puts the firepower at 50.0! MUCH higher than the Killer7's.

What, what? You can do that? :S

in short, yes.
you can also do it with chris.

Oh yeah, you get to see them in their special costumes in the cut scenes. I've also heard there are more special outfits in the PS2 version as well.

only in the GC version you get to see them in there special costumes during movies.

and the PS2 special costumes are: leon-mafia outfit ashly-knight outfit(makes her indestructebel, but...no boobies =,( )

PS: Stick with the Broken Butterfly magnum, it's special upgrade puts the firepower at 50.0! MUCH higher than the Killer7's.

that's what i said before, and the Killer7 has no special upgrade.

That is because the PS2 cutscenes are prerendered. The ones on the Gamecube are in Real-Time.

I always thought Killer 7 was better than Broken Butterfly, but it looks like I'm wrong. :( 50.0 firepower must be good for Broken Butterfly, but I never thought it could be stronger than Killer 7.

my thoughts exactly!i can think of two things he means:

-who has passed an RE game in a store? - ALL OF US!
or
-who has beaten an RE game? - most of us

also,in Seperate Ways,it finally gets a little challenging in Chapter 5 wen u fight Krauser again.

i just go the hard way, and tell you everything you need...

-"resident evil zero": a totaly new game in the series, exlusive for the GC, with graphics like the resident evil remake, and the totaly inovative dobbel character system.(you can move both characters with both joysticks, but you need a split brain for that)

-"resident evil remake": a remake of the (almost) 10 year old game on the PS1, with totaly new looks, an edited plot, and with new enemies. so, as you can see, it changed for the better.(if you want the original version for a nintendo console, get the DS version)

-"resident evil 2": looks a BIT better, the voises are NOT filtered like the PS1 & N64 version, but that's it, it's just a port.

-"resident evil 3: nemesis": same like RE2, just a port.

-"resident evil: code: veronica X": a port of the PS2 version/ remake of the dreamcast original.

-"resident evil 4": the original and best looking version of the game, without the PS2 bonuses.

If you want to join, please say "I am a zombie." And just to make sure that we don't have to repeat this so often:

Please state:
"I am a zombie"
"I am a zombie"
"I am a zombie"
"I am a zombie"
"I am a zombie"
"I am a zombie"
"I am a zombie"
"I am a zombie"
"I am a zombie"
"I am a zombie"
"I am a zombie"
"I am a zombie"

That should clear things up. :p Keep on Surviving!

I decided to complete RE: Dead Aim just to learn more about the overall plot a and must say that it even barely feels like a RE title, If you take away the zombies you'd just have a regular 1st person shoot'em up with very little plot.

1st thing: There wasn't a single puzzle element in the whole game (exept get the ocasional key/keycard at point A and use it in point B). There are a total of 3 characters in the game (one of whom is a bad guy), so you might think that they'll atleast concentrate on making you learn about the characters history and making you attached to them, but none of that. I think the only thing you learn about the characters is: the main guy works for goverment agency (?) and the girl is Chinese, who is betrayed by her goverment (not really explained why)

Also the subtitles are a joke! Halve of the subtitles dont follow the dialoge, dialoge itself is useless eg. when fighting the last boss the girl (sorry I cant remember any of their names) says the the most obvious things imaginable: "The monster is coming after you! Do something!" (",) duh....

Atleast Outbreak had some relevant storyline to it...

You wouldn't believe some of the lines they had in the original Re. " Here take this Jill. It may eb better you you the master of unlocking take it with you" "wow...what a mansion"....."Barry where's Barry" " OH NO! are you okay"

Re has had its moments in dialogue proliferation and its crappy overture but Re 0 they did a great job and in RE2 ( couldn't stand Leon's "ADA WAIT!" must have said that through a good three quarters of the way through. I'm a little disappointed Re 4 didn't take the time to develop solid dialogue for now its decent but the line " So Leon after we get back...you wanna come back to my place?" especially the radio conversations. Hopefully we'll see an improvement in RE5.
