Easy tipp, look in the Audio Portal. You see how many songs have been submitted in which genre. Then you'll get the idea. ;)
Everything can be good, if done well but music for the masses is the key. ;)

Anything goes well really, apart from hip hop it seems. still not sure why that is yet.
ones that do well and are big are metal trance, techno and dnb, plus, just dance, which is probably what you expected.

alot of ppl like fast techno-styles, be it 4/4 unts or breakbeat, but to be honest i think that what the NG crowd like the most, it´s music that sounds "action-filled", check out the matrix soundtrack and the likes, i think that is kindof spot on.
Join the Newgrounds Battlefield 3 Platoon (for PC)! DON'T ASK WHAT YOUR GAME CAN DO FOR YOU, ASK WHAT YOU CAN DO FOR, UH, NEWGROUNDS! ON BATTLEFIELD 3. eh...

Yeah. My Tankmen song has over double as many hits as ay other song from me because 1)Its a fast-paced matrix-sounding song 2)Its Drum n' Bass 3)Its in the Monthly Audio Competition2006 August
But in reality, you should do music for yourself and not the masses. Type O Negative is notorious for pissing off labels because they constantly refuse to sell-out and do what is "popular. Same with Rob Dougan. They both have earned mucho respect in the underground scene for their relentless dedication to music and not money.

How well informed you are after only a day of being a member. I wish I had your insight.

He looks like one of the fucking monsters from Lord of the Bollocks... His forehead is WAAYYY bigger than his hands. FACT: the singer from type o negative's forehead matches that of the size of a double decker bus, and he starred as bad guy, "Jaws", in the old James Bond movies...

Ai, you shouldn't care about what kind of music they want... just do what you like! Make a song, and if you like what you are hearing quite a bit, then submit it! Most people will like you if you are original, if nothing then :)

Most people hear tend to just fall toward the Trance, techno, and DNB section of the audio portal. Which is sad for me because Im not a regular artist at any of those.

Umm... no it's not.
