It's the user's choice if he/she wishes to remain as anonymous as possible.
Why should anyone be forced to give out information they may not be comfortable with?
And not everyone finds it amusing to make up random shit for their profile.

Because usually those are alts, that their trying to get banned by doucheing up the BBS with anyways, so that they don't get their main account banned. Like I use this alt so that I can still post while i'm on the brink of getting my 5,000th post, while i'm busy trying to think of something funny.
