How do you make money on newgrounds

Ok i was just wondering how people made livings of newgrounds, i heard some of my friends talking about this.

Does newgrounds pay you for your movies or what?

The only people that make a living off newgrounds are the admins like Tom and Wade Fulp, Stamper, etc. They get their money from ad revenue. The only other way to make money on newgrounds is to have one of the too 5 movies or games of the month, but thats only a 250$ prize and nobody makes a living off that.

Newgrounds can help you make money indirectly. Think of the place as free advertising, which can expose your material to hundreds of thousands of people within a relatively short amount of time. What you do with that publicity is up to you.

There are a good deal of flash artists out there who make money by having their own sites and ads on those sites. Whenever they post something to Newgrounds, it's instantly advertising their site out. That's how they make their money - that and through merchandising on their sites.

Flash artists/game makers like myself depend on sites like Newgrounds to send traffic to our sites. If you put some ads on your site, like liljim said above, you can make quite a bit of money.

If you don't get your work sponsored, you try to get it on as many sites as you can. Getting your work featured on the top Flash sites like Newgrounds can bring thousands and thousands of visitors to your site.
