Is the war inevitable? 2003-03-01 10:25:40 Reply

This is not a thread about weither the war is right or wrong. We've discussed that many times already. My question is, is there any way this war will NOT be fought after all? Bush and Blair have had such big mouths about their attacks and stuff, that they look like total idiots if they don't attack now. The only way i think that the war can be stopped is when Saddam packs his stuff and gets the hell outta iraq. Switzerland for example has said they are willing to have Saddam in their country if they can prevent a war by doing so.

what do you guys think?

Undoubtly, it would be interesting to see what would Bush and Blair say if Saddam left

I think that in this case they would attack anyway, saying that the new government is worse or that Sadam still controls the government or something like this

They are not going to waste all the money they are spending in this troop movement, that's clear. Once they are here, why not go and kill a few arabs?

I heard that Sadam challenged Bush to a televised debate, if this is true that is extremely intelligent on sadams part. Of course Bush is going to refuse, and then America looses all crediblitly and proves itself to be the warmonger everyone is accusing us of being.

Maybe through tactics like this Sadam will make himself look like the civilized person that the world should listen to and force the US into some peaceful solution.

BTW - incase anyone is getting the wrong impression I am NOT anti-american I'm just a little anti-Bush...

No matter what Saddam does, Bush will not let him leave peacefully. Bush is stubborn and will make up reasons if he has to to attack Iraq, or any other country, for example, even if there are protests, or treaties signed, or even if Iraq surrenders, because Bush is a dueche! There, I said it.

Some sure things...

No matter what America does, we will still be labeled an evil, warmongering empire.

No matter what the UN says, Saddam is definitly still actively seeking WMD.

No matter what anyone does this war will happen... its been inevitable for about the past month, in my view, and almost a sure thing when this all started so many months ago.

Oh yeah, and no matter what the French suck.

War is now inevitable.
The US has stated that even if Saddam disarms, even if he complies with the UN in every way, the US is going to cause a regime change in Iraq.

Well, since destroying Al-Samoud II missiles is considered "a deception", I think this war is pretty much set in stone. Run, human shields, run!
