I forget, was Jamrock really an "alt" luis?
Anyway, I forgot to post this in my other post so:
I agree with everyone too, blah blah blah, but... Isn't the only reason that a lot of people bash on the noobs, because their questions are farfetched, irrelevant, and cannot possibly be answered, and don't forget the completely off topic spam picture included at the end of their post which is totally against the rules. Yes, we need to be a lot more nicer, and I completely agree with that, but, there needs to be an equal amount of banning. Just because their new here doesn't mean they can't read, when it says the Flash forum is for disccusing techniques with your peers, and someone comes in asking if someone could code a game for them, unaware of what "flash" actually is, aren't they completely avoding the main purpose of the thread, and rather than sharing and discussing techniques, they... demand... someone to do something for them, with hardly any descriptions, and what not...
If SOMEONE TYPES IN CAPS LIKE THIS, and asks a question, and one person responds nicely answering the question, avoding the caps, but another person comes in and bashes the noob for capslocking, and because of these rules gets banned, why should that person get banned for just following the rules, and establishing them. Even though that is probably a very unrealistic scenario, but still.
Your idea is great, and I hope this works out, but remeber....equality.... (I've lost it...)

im not even urging people to be nice or loving or anything... new users are frusterating and ask rediculous things that twist your nipples but it is what it is and you're better off just going to some other thread.

I have had flash for about a year and a half, and I think I'm very good at scripting, but every once in a while, I check out that thread just to look at some tutorials. And the tutorials there are pretty good!

Luis, for the record... I think being helpful has a ton to do with how the original poster portrayed themselves. I know myself personally if their thread is worded well, I'm helpful. If their thread is poorly worded, I usually ask for more info... and if its worded piss poorly, I tell them to fly south.
For example:
"Hello, I'm interested in starting a crew of artists and animators to produce games for newgrounds, we need the following people:"
is different than...
"Who wants to make crew"? (and that's where the post ends)
is different than...
OMG!! LETS MAKES A TEAM!! (and that's it)
How about this for a guideline for posting responses Luis... I think it's fair.
We will put as much effort into our replies as the poster put into his initial post.
Perpetually looking for time to return to the arts.

I'd also like to make a note about all the spamming going on. Seriously, last night there were 3 spam topics, i mean come on. It was like a mass msn conversation. If anyone wants to discuss stuff without smamming i suggest getting/using Yakalike. Google search it if you want it. but i'll just give a brief description.
Its like a shoutbox for each web domain. You click the button and it brings up previous shoutbox history on that domain.

omg dont call them all noobs
a noob is the guy who wants the full actionscript, if someone wants to teach him something or give megaeasy editable actionscript and he flames the other guy and posts: i dont speak nerd or something like that
a guy who actually learns, who asks the difference and who tries to understand is newbie
i mean, if you would be like noobs (like you said) before years when you didnt knew a thing you would be like jamrock (if there would be a real noob behind him) and wouldnt have learn anything till today. but look at you! you now have like dailys and stuff!
oh god i have no idea what i just wrote but the idea is:
a n00b dont learn, his unlogical and stupid
a newbie learns, his logical and he sees difference

You were once a Noob as was I and its part of the growth process theres no need to be an asshole. If you dont want to help someone fine ignore the thread.
What you can do is link people to their first post in the ban comment, it always humiliates ;).

agreed.
There are some moments where you just need to screem "ARRRGGGH NOOBS" and if you look back at my posts i have done a few times. But i would say 90% of my posts are helpful, and i always try to make the noob feel good by offering constructive critisism instead of saying "it was crap" like many people do.

I'm about as bad. I'm fully aware of how much of a smartass I am at times, but as far as I remember, I have always justified my stance within a post in a matter of fact manner.
Guidelines would be good.

There's no use flaming people. Just calmly point out that the average skilled user will not want to waste their time animating for people who put a couple of minutes into a (dire) script, and that they probably stand a better chance of getting their ideas to come to life from actually learning to use the program theirselves.
I apologise if I've been unhelpful at times. It's not because I get pissed off at people, because I usually don't take internets seriously enough to get pissed off (except when people start flaming people who are trying to help them - that's just uncalled for). It's because... of a force of habit more than anything. And because stupid posts tend to seem like a good idea before you write them. That said, I remember how much of an idiot I was when I started out here, so I guess I'm a hypocrite.
Anyway, I genuinely hope the atmosphere improves here. You get a much bigger ego boost from helping someone with a reasonably specific problem than you do from taunting any number of noobs :P

I've not even seen it before.. so yes.
The other night I got caught up in Lost and went searching for new episodes, and looking through other forums and stuff you realise how shitty this forum is, for example (Random link).

Luis, you are my hero.
I'll have to admit... Sometimes I am only Really Polite instead of Super Polite and I forget to end my posts with the truest sign of affection, <3, so lately, I think ending posts with <3s could be just let certain noobs know, even if you're a teeeny weeeeensy bit stearn with them, that the newgrounds flash forum is a 'flame free' welcoming haven where every body get's a long and happy ponies munch on grass all day.
The end.

I suppose it did, didn't it... and I feel a little responsible at the moment. Newer users tend to follow your lead all too often when you've been around a while and decide to publicly take your own personal annoyances out on someone. I like to think I'm above that most of the time... a little embarassed on my part.

NOOO! Old people are so nice. My mom and her sisters were packing up my dead gramma's apartment and I walked downstairs in the old people place and the old people asked me if I wanted to play bingo with them. They're so cute! One of them cussed at me and a few of them were ridiculously competitive. Another one drooled on the table.
