This has been bugging me for a while now. I know Futurama isn't new or anything, but whatever.
First: Zoidberg, Harold Zoid, and the rest of his people (Decapoidians?) display almost exclusively stereotypical Jewish mannerisms in their speech. I.E. "alright, already" "vaat?" "oi!" etc.
Second: His name. Zoidberg. -Berg being a typical suffix in a Jewish surname.
So what do you think? Jewish or not?

He just has a Yiddish accent. It's not a stereotype of us Jews as a whole, but rather the Yiddush part of us.

Actually its not. Analyzing "fictional" characters can give people great incite into what kind of society they came from. You could analyze Anime and find millions of cultural issues. Elegey, Apocalypse, and carnival being three main themes that are large concers or very important to anime. You can't just disregard something because it comes from animation and is supposedly "fictional" because it has roots in the human mind and perceptions.
Zoidberg is quite clearly a fictional representation of a Jewish Stereotype and looking into his character would show you what the animators may have thought about jews. Why choose a crab like appearance? Why make him a disliked character? Why is he always upset? etc.

Well they have a Yiddish accent, yes, but his beliefs are never specified.
Maybe it like 2001 A Space Travesty where the aliens learned English through actors and picked up the accents.

ARR! In my travels, I never once met a lobster who was jewish.
I do know, however, that me and the crew like to boil them in a pot, when on the shore of our native land. We usually do this to celebrate before we set sail.

I highly doubt a lobster would be Jewish. I would think he would be wearing one of those little caps things (Ya-somethings) or at least have something relating to the Jewish religion.
